Make sure the systm is fully evacuated first, the part is easy to weld in, but make absolutely sure the new one is the same as old.

After welding, the unit neeeds to be vacuumed down properly with a vacuum pump and then charged with the right weight of refrigerant, dont let the mechanic do a purge or use a junk compressor as vacuum pump.

This is the new accumulator aka Muffler in local language , it looks a lil short to me , but I think it will be fine

So for a couple of days, the Outdoor was leaking oil , i immediately called the AC technician, as i knew it aint normal, upon inspection,the taaka of the accumulator had leaked after 2 months again, now we going toward changing the whole compressor assembly.

The reason its rusted out is because of moisture inside the system which is only removable with a real vacuum punp.

Um , i dont know haha , they run it for some time , and then open the valve on their meter thingy , and gas escapes , i dont kniw much about ac stuff

When installing a new accumulator, the whole unit, including condenser and compressor is vacuumed out to boil out the moisture.

If your mechanic is so stupid as to assume that the units own compressor can fully vacuum itself then he should sell his tools and look for another job.

Replacing these mufflers is common practice, all gas is lost from this leak, after welding in a new item, the whole unit is vacuumed with a dedicated multistage vacuum pump (ideally to less than 300 microns).

Otherwise you will be facing this again in a few months and during those months will have very high energy bills.
