Its an electrohydraulic unit that car is tied to the hydbrid drive, when you hit the brakes initially the mg units sink a lot of power “into the batteries” and the last few feet are done with road wheel brakes. This is why a prius which weighs as much as a v6 camry can get along with corolla sized brakes.
Making it do the road wheel job all the time will cause it to die very quick as its doing a job its not meant to.
