Can I shift from 10w40 to 5w30 Engine oil on Honda City 2005 - Mileage 173000

Salam everyone,

I want to ask whether I can shift from Kixx 10w40 to 5w30 or not? Mileage is 173000. Someone told me that my car will perform better on 5w30 both drive-wise and fuel economy-wise.
