Can i use a mixture of car gear oil & normal engine oil for my bike?

i need 2 know that can we use a mixture of gear oil(used for cars) and engine oil in our bikes??? what could b the effect of using this mixture???

dont know about the gear oil but a lot of ppl use diesel engine oil in their motorcycles.

^That is strange because in bike the combustion takes place due to spark while in the diesel engine vehicle the combustion takes place due to the pressure exerted on the piston, thats why petrol engines use SAE and diesel engines use PE oils..

the mixture will drag and heat up the clutch pack - maybe disintegrate it too.

Using diesel rated oil in bikes is good, as it cleans up black sludge quite well, and its not rated PE, diesel oils are graded with "C" for compression ignition (e.g CF. CH) and petrol oils use "S" for spark igntion (e.g SF SG)

viscosity number of transmission oil (gear oil) usually ranges from 90~140, whereas engine oils have a viscosity range 10~50. oils with different viscosity numbers or base can never be mixed together. even if tried so, in a blender, seperation will occur if left static after a short while. and surely the one with a lighter density will sit above the heavier one.

also mixing two different oils with different base/viscosity can lead to serious "lubrication-failure" in the applied machine.

u can use gear oil in two stroke engines
