Can we switch from 10w40 back to 5w30 in honda civic rebirth

i bought the car 2013 model it was driven approx 97000 km the owner was using 5w30 I over drove the car 1000 km and when I get to the mechanic the oil was low he suggested the temperature is high so we should switch to 10w40 my dad agreed and they switched I was not satisfied as fuel economy dropped. than after 3500 km I went back and ask to change it back to 5w30 he scared me that it will make more noise after switching to 5w30 he again put 10w40 in it and I am no satisfied can I still switch back to 5w30 after this oil change?

Please find a new mechanic. 5w30 is what the car should be using. If it's not burning oil and the engine is healthy, 5w30 will be fine.

Its always best to run the recommended oil type regardless of odometer numbers. 97000 kms is considered a baby age for your car.

How is the car's engine's condition. Does it reduce oil. If everything is fine in the engine then I think so you should be using 5W-30

I bought the 9th Gen Civic (Rebirth) which was driven 240,000 kms. It was being driven on 10W-40, I switched to 5W-30 and its driving fine.

no 10w40 was not low but 5w30 was low when i bought it

Was the car giving any smoke on 5W-30 on cold starts plus you what's the car's engine condition?
Because the mileage 93k is not high at all for a rebirth, it all depends on it's condition if you are confident on the engien then I would say you should give 5w-30 a try because that's the right oil that should be used in a maintained one.
