Cancellation of Car booking

Dear friends,
I booked a car through bank in January 2011. Now, bank informed that it will take time to deliver as the car is not available. I asked them to cancel my booking. but the contact person said, "car once booked cannot be canceled".
I dont know, how on earth it is not possible to cancel the agreement. There is a cost associated, which I am willing to pay.
I need expert comments on this issue. Please help.

Do u have the booking form?? its clearly mentioned that you can cancel the booking, plus booking with a bank means uve already started paying the instalments right?

So i think its probably reversable, contact the showroom you booked your car from, and also the bank officials.

you need to go to the branch manager directly and inform him that you are going to cancel the booking and ready to pay the bank fee and other administration charges.
and if he says no you cannot do that then call help line of the bank and find out the help desk e mail address and send your request their.
make sure when you talk or send the mail your tone should be authoritative and solid. no if's and but's straight to the point and tell them you are out and recording this conversation also.
you will be good to go.
