However, do you think there are going to be issues of moisture trapping b/w the line and the insulating material ultimately leading to pre-mature corrosion of the lines? But I guess it can be tackled with the type of insulating material used and/or the presence or absence of gap between them?

^Since normally the higher engine compartment temperature evaporates all the moisture off the line...

Gaps Bends In Line Usually Get Rid Of Moisture Easily.....! You Just Need To Make Sure Line Don't Directly Get Contact With Hot Surface Air....! Other Than That Its GOOD...!!

I have a question..... while installing a split ac, the inner unit needs to be a little tilted toward the drain pipe to allow easy discharge of water (question here is how much should it be tilted? i need to install the ac, havnt til now) second question is that does the outer unit also need to be tilted, towards the compressor side, to allow for easy discharge of gas ... or should it be tilted to the opposite side, or should it sit absolutely straight..... kindly advice.... thanls

the inner unit doesn't have to be tilted, the hole that you drill for the lines and drain pipe should be 45degrees downwards

Like @syncview said, the inner and outer units should both be installed levelled. No tilting. I think all manufacturers recommend same. The hole in the wall like syncview said is to be drilled tilted outwards (opening on wall outside is lower than the opening inside).

I am using Suzuki Khyper 1998, i got service plus gas filled around 2 months ago but AC is not cooling properly, please suggest which gas is suitable for my car architecture and which mechanic i should visit in lahore who can better diagnosis actual problem with cooling rather then just filling the gas.

called more than 10 ac fitting people to get the service of a vaccum pump ... none of them had it... half of them dint even know what it was and what it is for .... half said they had made one out of a compressor..... if anyone knows someone who has it... kindly let me know.

@Xulfiqar please tell the normal values of resistance of ac compressor clutch magnet and the gap between compressor clutch and pressure plate?

Car is khyber. Compressor is genuine...that would be denso i think.

the magnet usually is between 2 to 5 ohms - but it varies on different models. The clutch gap also varies from compressor model. If its the original 10PA type then the air gap is usually set to 0.3 to 0.6 mm. To get the exact correct gap - read the compressor model no. on the side of it.

everything bolted straight up, and the outer resting on correct mounted plastic/rubber feet, make sure the electrics box is well insulated and protected from moisture and dont use any nitto taping, use chocolate blocks.

make sure the outer unit can intake cool fresh air and is not near to any heatsource like a geyser exhaust or another A/C outer unit - if you have too many outer units, then make sure they are at least 10 ft apart - the fan exhaust should also be clear to blow out.

yes - this is the only correct way to do wiring for an AC. apply some anticorrossion agent on it too if you suspect it will be damaged by the elements.

Experts any comment on replacing r134a with r152a on paper r152a will be putt less load on engine being less denser plus it will be more enviroment friendly on downside it highly flameable
