Car AC Myth: Setting Temperature Higher while AC On Increases Efficiency

I know it's used for defrosting windows or dry air but does setting the temperature knob in the middle (dry portion) or at 24~26°C while AC on increases efficiency? Since I heard those rumors around the internet but with not enough information.
Since most older cars had "dry" or "eco" mode like in Daihatsu Cuore and older Japanese vehicles while today's don't which I don't know why.
I checked the owners manual of Suzuki Swift and Alto about the temperature setting which doesn't mention anything about the efficiency. I also did a test on both cars by setting the temperature knob in the middle while AC is on. Unfortunately, I didn't felt any difference on performance and efficiency but at least it was comfortable.
I don't know about other newer vehicles thought since these are the only cars I tested.

In non digital/ manual climate control, the temperature knob just changes intake direction, either evaporator or heater core
You're not going to save fuel by setting knob in middle of red and blue rather left with hot air from heater core and minimized ac cooling

But does it affect consumption in an auto climate

Technically it does help as the evaporator is now staying cold and the compressor eases off (sensarr wala) or trips (duet wala)

i think yes
on move custom when i used to idle with climate control set to 25 26 the average used to come down less compared to when it was set to 22 or say 20

i think it will , because even in manual AC if you keep the knob near to middle (red and blue indications) the AC compressor will trip more .. i personally noticed it many times. hence lesser load on engine = a little bit better fuel efficiency ..
