Car advice required

Assalam alaikum,

I have a second car that I rarely use. My mechanic who used to work at Toyota center in Jeddah told me to disconnect negative terminal of the battery if not using it for a long time. He told me there is no need to turn on the car occasionally as it won't harm the car parts.

My question for experienced tech experts at PW is will the internal engine components, oil and other parts will be fine if I don't turn on the car for months and just disconnect the terminal? Or should I continue my current habit of turning it on for about 10 minutes every alternate days and drive about 2 km every once a week?

Ps. The second car is Honda Civic 2007 model.

Probably good to drive it at least once a month, but even without that there wont be any major issue other than changing engine oil every 3 months or so. Old petrol in tank could also degrade slowly.

If car is still for very, very long peroids tyres could loose their shape in one position from the weight of the car so removing them would be an option.

Although I'm not an expert.
