Car Battery Terminals Anti-Corrosion

Can anyone help me out in finding a good product to prevent corrosion at Battery terminals ? I have asked for the product from many automotive shops, unfortunately i did not find any product in karachi.

Some people recommend the normal grease, dielectric grease or petroleum jelly. They can prevent the corrosion but these are bad conductors of the electricity which means less flow of current.

Electric Conductive grease or spray are the products which can be use for the purpose.

If anyone have any idea where this can be available in karachi or lahore. please do let me know.

What is important is to inspect the terminals regularly, and clean them if they are corroding.

Yes, but the corrosion keeps coming more frequently in cities like karachi where the weather is more humid. Putting on electric grease or spray will prevent the corrosion and no regular (weekly / monthly) cleaning will be required.

its because wiring is not properly done.... check it ..and this problem will be solved .......we do have cars being used for over 10 years and no problem ....

otherwise you have to keep cleaning them all the time

Just pour some hot water on the terminals. Is that too much of a hassle?

the best of the best is wash terminals with coke or pepsi, and you can drink the rest

Make a mixture of baking soda and Vaseline and apply on battery terminals. No corrosion.

Brother, the insulation on wires is bad conductor of electricity does it effects current flow. Same is with Vaseline. I follow Xulfiqar bhai method and rust is no where near to battery terminals after 3 months roughly.

Bro you may be right but Corrosion is a basic problem. It can be found in any car having no other problem.

Ok there might be some point if we apply Vaseline on the exterior side of clamps and not on the battery terminal. Do you have any weak current issues ??

Can you explain a little the reasons of this terminal corrosion?
I found greenish corrosion on negative terminal for the first time...

baking soda and vaseline have worked for decades. For best results completely clean the clamps first with a solution on water and baking soda in a small cup and agitate with a toothbrush. Dry it out, apply some baking soda and vaseline mix to the terminals and clamps and forget about it.

btw - the factory terminals on japanese cars are junk. They have little cavities in them which trap corrosion and can cause a no contact situation. (they have very poor contact area too)
