Yes i know, Autoline is giving overpriced products to customers but it gives good rates to shops......like the Mothers step 3 is for 1850 at D-lux, M.m alam road(just before Shahnawaz Mercedes showroom) but for 1950 at Autoline......the wax at D-lux was definitely original, packing was legit, wax had the same smell and color as the Mothers Cleaner wax i have and it had a slip inside on which was written by Mothers itself "Wax may be cracked on edges...." something like that. They do deal in car care prods but they buy from importers so some prices good, some not so good. And i know D-lux is making profit even by selling it at 1850!
They also have most of the 3m line, wheel cleaner, car wash, compound etc. The performance finish was for 1695 (i posted wrong before). It looked original but i didn't smell/open it. The clay kit is for 2800 at Autoline.......

bro mother step 3 seems orginal yes it contain a slip inside of box , i personaly like this wax over megs gc but problem is it wont last longer compare to gc also have to apply panel to panel while gc can do whole car in one go

mother step 3 and mothers reflections top coat would be good long lasting combo :S

i tried with light hand as well as with pressure,you see wax can be seen in starting then it starts to miss out,on horizontal pannels where i cant see wax application,i just apply it assuming it gets applied,i dont know why i am facing this issue,b4 i never faced any such issues
also i tried with 1 drop of wax n 2-3 drops,even i tried another method by drawing a line of wax yet still same thing,lets see how it goes this time when it stops raining.

what is APC n detailing brush n from where to get them n for how much?
i thought to clean those areas with brush during the wash

yea dust starts settling as soon as u dry,n black ride clearly shows that,i think dry wipe would be fine?as wet wipe normally used to leave lines atleast on bonnet

yea there are water marks around viper sprayer,normally because when you use it,water drops drop there + when you have dried the car n when you drive it,water comes out from there even after drying :mad:
water marks on that place were very stubborn n were handled by swirl remover,once applied meg's ultimate compound on it n it brought a fresh bright look from the previous dull look,but after wax i dont feel that same change :S
n i notice that reflections on the car can be seen even after the wash as well as can be seen after buffing the wax
i use turtle ice shampoo where u can use 4 litre of water for 1 ounce,but i think that makes it alot dilture so i use lesser water n now i use pressure water to make foam
no matter how much u wipe washmitt or dry still those water marks type thing esp transparent look of bird dropping can usually be seen

You're using a liquid wax? Then i think your pad absorbs it so you may need to apply more to the pad little by little as you wax......and when you apply it do see if its being applied or not. I had this issue on bonnet too when my pad didn't have enough wax in it. I thought the 'overlapping' motion caused this.......i may be wrong. Next time try a different method and do post results.

APC is all purpose cleaner of Meguiars. I doubt detailing brushes are available here......i think @vague_one sir has them. I don't know prices of both. Maybe he can help you with this.

Dry wipe? Hmmmm......that would cause swirls so not recommended. Just use a spray bottle and spray some on a clean mf....you need very less water for this so there won't be any/very less water marks. Or if you have distilled water that is best. Use that and you won't have water spot issues. Don't soak the mf completely or wet it too much....that would leave lines. Oh and don't apply pressure; Just glide the mf after folding it and it will pick up the settled dust.

Oh i hate it when water gets into spaces and starts dripping when i wax.....:S so irritating. Just try to dry as thoroughly as you can. You don't need a compound to remove water spots...that would remove a lot of paint but if the spots are very hard to get off use a light polish like Meguiars Ultimate Polish....or try the clay bar you have or a cleaner wax if its not so hard.

I use the same car wash and yes it gives a pop because it has shine enhancers giving a 'just waxed look' . I use 3.8liters and around 30ml(approx. 1 ounce) of car wash. When i wash it cleans pretty thoroughly using the two bucket method, back and forth motion and the turtle wash mitt. Maybe your area has harder water than what i use. Again, for the 'transparent look' or outline of droppings etc use a clay bar or a cleaner wax.

i dont know from where to find distilled water,i needed that for something else as well to make a cleaning solution for cleaning lcd,i think from some chemical shops etc but again dont know where to find them in islamabad

i also hate it when water starts coming in the application of wax esp at lower sides of door,no matter how many times u clean it,it will keep coming even at the time of buffing,n when buffing towel (supreme shine) gets wet because of this water,it stops sliding easily n it starts to stick which becomes so annoying :mad:
i already clayed whole car,i'll use turtle's black box step 1 cleaner wax step 2 carnuba wax now but i am not getting straight 3 hours with car at day time to do that if nothing a 10min of drive comes in,n after that car would have dust or maybe water marks from wet road too :mad:
+ already have only 4 small mf's to clean that turtle black box stuff

dont know if its hard water or not,now i just use water by approximation n use 1 cap of shampoo

any idea what those white dots are on the bonnet? that can be seen by close look up n not gone even with clay

black more towards jetness compare to earlier pics , seems mobile phone camera pics so if pics take by proper camera than sure results much better than these

i have used Carnuba Gold Wax and home made detailer spray (Ahmad Yar's recipe)

well for the first session which i did and shared normal application of wax and removed immediately and showered in the evening with detailer spray

for second session after discussion with the guru tried something new applied wax in the morning and removed it after 4 to 5 hours by sprinkling detailer spray on wax first and than removing it

this technique has achieved the shining crystals which is available in Honda Black color

yes this is a mobile camera and justice was not done with the car with these pictures plus the cloudy weather

Experts on this thread also comment how and which things to be improved

dark paints like black need extreme body care to avoid swirls , first priority should be to avoid swirls by good washing tech, drying, tech, waxing and buffing out wax,
never dry dust car skin, always use quality microfiber clothes etc etc

now if we still get some swirls and scratches than have 2 options
1) hide these imperfections for time being by glazes and natural waxes
like mother 3 steps good example or meguair hand glaze, mother hand glaze turtle also having glaze than topup with natural wax like megs gold class, megs #26, mother step 3 etc etc

2) remove them permanently by compounds, polishes etc
meguair ultimate compound having micro abrasive and good for minor imperfections well good results comes by electric polishers but by proper by hand with thorough massage with firm hand pressure also remove minor swirls easily

if u doing proper application than means u need bit more aggressive product , btw electric polishers are best ( rotrey ) for fast and perfect job
take ur car picture under direct sunlight to understand the nature of swirls to advise u any product

Anyone can suggest good Undercoating Shop/service station in Karachi? I found one near Mukka chowk for 2000, he'll clear the dust, dry it then spray some berger paint[use for bLackenin of roads] , is that gud enufF?

hey guys! need some help u experts! i have a question thats not strictly related to detailing but still, im sure ppl here wud be helpful.

Recently, i got both bumpers and rear wheel arches of my car painted. its been less then a month. The painter has very gud reputation n works on usually on upper class cars, which means people would trust him. so i trusted him too. the paint job took around 2 days, i sat in the workshop all the time which would total nearly 15hrs. paint was done, quality seemed to be good other then at a few nooks n corners but was acceptable. after almost a week, the bumpers n arches were compounded.

Now, just 2 days ago, i spotted something on the rear bumper that made me extremely annoyed n angry! something hit the bumper from the lowest point, it must ve been a small, edgy thing, i dont know what, and it scratches the paint. well thats not what made me angry bcuz i know my car cannot stay scratchless for more then a few weeks at best. the annoying part was that far away from the point of contact, almost 1ft up towards the bootlid, a lot of paint chipped n cracked. almost 4x3" area is completely gone. nothing hit there although the bumper may have bent a little bit due to the contact with sum object but that cant be much. only a little bit of flex shouldnt chip off the paint so easily. what could be the reason? did the painter use any bad quality material or what?

the process he did was this.

Sanding the paint on bumpers to make them smoother, then applying putty on the scratches or irregularities to fill them, again lot n lot of sand paper (very high grade), then astar (base coat may be?) sprayed on to all of the to-be-painted surface, then sanding again, then 3 coats of paint with 5-10min break between each, then clear coat 3 coats n few days later, compound polish...

please tell me what could be wrong as i ll visit the jerk n ask him to fix the paint for me...

Swirls APPEAR in circular motion because of the way light reflects on them. They are actually spider web scratches which go pretty much in all directions; circular, back and forth, diagonally etc. If you look at your car under sunlight or any other light source, swirls will appear round; that is because light is reflected from the deeper side/sharp edge of the swirl making it LOOK circular. So if you're wiping your microfiber in any direction and it is dry it'll cause swirls. So you need a bit lubrication so as not to instill swirls; this is why i told you to use less water or just use enough water to pick up the dust.

Also, just so you know microfiber has a high chance of swirling up your car. While it may be one the best cloth to use to wipe off wax residue, dry, or clean the car a dirty microfiber that is filled up with dust, dirt etc will scratch the clearcoat. This is because it has greater cleaning ability than a normal cheap cloth and due to this its gets dirty pretty soon. Microfibers are 100 times finer than cotton fibers and 2 times finer than human hair, if memory serves me right. Lets add a bit science here; pressure is the force acting per unit area of a surface(P = F/A). So even if you're using moderate force there will be a lot of pressure...why? because the microfibers are veeeeerrrry thin meaning they have a verrrry less area. And those thin fibers will hold dust firmly. So i would never recommend doing a dry wipe.

Yeah dust start settling almost immediately. Use a detailer spray to minimize dust attraction. For distilled water, if you have a pressure cooker, attach a plastic pipe to the whistle(after removing cap) and place the other end inside a clean and dry plastic bottle dipped in cold water; this would condense the steam giving you distilled water. You may need to hold the bottle in place. I have yet to try this method.

One full cap of ICE car wash measures to around 10ml. Thats way too low. So put three caps, making sure you pour all the car wash each time you refill the cap just to be accurate. And to measure 3.8 liters of water, fill up a Pulpy orange bottle three times (1.25liter x 3 = 3.75 liters) and you have approx. 3.8 liters of water.

If the white dots are bumps and protrude outwards then polishing might help. But if they are deep/shallow then maybe your paint is gone in those areas.

I currently am facing the same problem and that was a gift from the previous owner who had the cheapest paint job done. I think he didn't prep the surface well meaning he may not have used primer before spraying the base (color) coat. Primer is very important as it helps the paint to stick to the surface. Every brand new car is spayed with primer before painting. Otherwise poor quality paint also can do that.

Go to him and ask whether he painted primer first or not. On a good quality paint work (primer + base coat + clearcoat) this is NOT supposed to happen.
