Love the beading!! Bro, which wax/sealant do you use? And does the water sheet off easily when you wash it? I'd be amazed if it sheets water after 8 months............

To be honest. I just use spray on quick detailing thingy. The water just slips away. When I bought the car in December 2012 . The Audi/VW dealership detailed it for me inside out. Though After that the car has seen numerous snow and rain storms.

I am really not an expert like you guys at all.

Smart choice getting full sized products as they will definitely last longer and you're working on a new car, yes? Please state color too.
I'm not sure about megs gc wash but the mothers one is available for around 1300......I forgot the amount, will confirm it tomorrow. Autoglym products are rare here and not many people bring these along from abroad for private selling. If you really want it then you could inform a pakwheeler going abroad to get it for you or you can order it via a friend/relative coming to Pakistan. But it won't be so necessary as you can get great products in good prices here. Megs ultimate quik detailer ( around 1600), mothers protectant(not sure, confirm from Montgomery road), megs s.shines(3 pack for around 1500); a single one is expensive here so its better to buy three pack as they are really good quality and will last, and megs 4" yellow soft foam pad (pack of 2 around 600, pack of 4 around 800). You can source your Meguiars products from Detailing Crew Wax Shop. Please contact Usman bhai a.k.a @vague_one for more info on prices as the rates I mentioned are from a while ago and dollar rate has gone up since then. The products that are mentioned are very good for a newbie as yourself. If budget is a problem then do tell.........

Ok, just to make it clear i'm no expert :D. You don't have to be an expert to detail or to have a garage full of detailing prods. Though I ought to be telling you rain storms = acid rain and snow = salt which is bad. Acid rain will etch/eat away your clear coat and the sun and heat will only accelerate this process. For snow, do they sprinkle salt on the roads? If they do its probably doing harm to your undercarriage i.e its promoting rust. So I don't think I needed to mention this but get your undercarriage sprayed. The dealership must've used some long life sealant on the car.

Well NYC has the largest reserves for salt to tackle the snow. We actually float in snow and salt. So much salt on the roads you cant even imagine. All cars comes with rust protection.

VW comes with 12 years unlimited miles rust warranty and I have driven VW 16 year old not with a single rust piece. So no need for under carriage protection as its already there with very high end coatings comes from factory. Otherwise cars will die after one season and the manufacturer will die of warranty claims and law suits

The major damage it do is to wheels. People keep extra set of cheap wheels for winter.Like see here

about shampoo qty
i usually add just 2 capfulls of shampoo in 1 gal water to wash routine dirty car
however for rain dirty car i use double of shampoo qty

as i mentioned if car is routine dirty than 1 gal shampoo solution enough with 2 caps shampoo
use double bucket for shampoo wash

i would propose u
1) megs ultimate wash and wax shampoo
2) megs supreme shine microfibers a set of 3
3) megs ultimate paste wax
4) megs ultimate detailer spray

Your welcome, bro. See the directions on the back. If it doesn't mention dilution then it would be ok to use 1oz(30ml) in one u.s gallon(3.8 liters). These products are made in u.s so i mentioned this. Always use two bucket method to wash car which is simple; rinse two new buckets(they should be new and super clean), then add car wash to one bucket and pour right amount of water. In second bucket pour only water; this will be your rinse bucket. After washing few panels dip wash mitt and shake it in the rinse bucket to release dirt. Dont touch mitt to bottom of bucket or it will pick up dirt and there will be a chance of swirling car. Squeeze it to remove most water then dip it in car wash bucket and repeat this cycle for whole car. 1 gallon of water will be enough for your car.
To measure correct amount of car wash concentrate get a big injection which reads atleast up to 50ml. Fill it with 30ml wash and add to bucket. Or you can pour it in the car wash cap to see how many capfuls it takes so you won't have to use the injection over and over again.

So guys im gonna detail my City tomorrow hopefully if it doesn't rain the poor car hasn't been detailed since the last 2 months sad isn't it :(I wanted to know how to clean my cars yellowish/hazy headlamps at home without the aid of a power tool (since i dont have one :P) but i do have a biloxi buffer Does toothpaste work ? sen a couple of vid's on youtube and pw's member Rohaan tried it on his SX8 City and it worked to some extent while others wet sand them but at the final stage you need to buff them with a power tool and some compound my uncle told me to do it with a 5000 grit sand paper that way wont need to buff 'em in the end would that work ?

Yesterday due to previous day driving in the rain had to carry out a quick 'Chota' detailing session (2 hours session that started at 0515 in the morning) with just Meg's Wash&Wax followed by Ultra Quick Detailer spray and the result (Must tell you that this session had been preceded by a detailed detailing session carried out last weekend with Meg's Wash&Wax followed by Ultra Polish using a DA and finally Ultra Wax).
