I have experience with four of Meguiar's products namely Ultimate Polish, Smooth surface clay kit, pads and microfiber towel.
Starting with UP. I bought it a while ago as i had heard very good reviews about it and the fact that it contained glaze oils which i needed for depth in paint. Available at a great price i bought it and decided to try it. After washing and drying the car i used a Meguiars soft foam pad to evenly apply UP on a small area. After massaging it onto the paintwork i removed it using Meguiars supreme shine microfiber cloth. The results were amazing. The swirl masking capabilities of UP are very good except the fact that deeper swirls were not completely masked. I guess if i used an orbital they would also be masked. Also, i noticed enhanced metallic flake and a depth in the paint. The paint i worked on was granite metallic (Ahmad bhai you know this one
) and the brown shade was more visible than before. I would definitely use this product again.
The first clay kit i bought was of Meguiar's i.e the Smooth Surface clay kit. Getting 200grams of clay along with a microfiber cloth and the quik detailer would last many claying sessions. After washing and drying the car, i halfed the 100gram clay as it was really big and incase i dropped a piece i would have another. After spraying Meguiar's Quik Detailer spray on a panel i started rubbing the clay using the length of my fingers. The clay bar can easily be kneaded and is not hard like other clays. So as i was rubbing i noticed that the clay was doing its job fine i.e it was picking up the contaminants on my car that had been there for such a looong time. This clay is very user friendly as it doesn't use a strong abrasive so lesser chances of getting swirls/abrasions from the clay. From the lower panels (below knee level) i was happy to see the clay removing more dirt in the form of fine black lines on the clay bar. I guess the lower panels do get more wear from water splashes from rain etc. After doing the whole car i used a finishing wax and a week later the car was still beading. This is a daily driver i'm talking about which gets a lot of sun exposure. So this means the clay did a good job in preparing the surface for a fresh coat of wax which bonded to the paint better. This clay will last a long time and is great value for money.
Lastly i would like to share my experience with Supreme shine microfiber towel and the yellow wax pads. As i moved my hand along the surface of the towel it felt grabby on the imperfections of the skin of my hand. This meant it was going to be great in removing wax residue. So after allowing a wax i had used to dry applied with Meguairs Soft Foam Applicator Pads, which were great in getting an even coat, i used the microfiber to remove the wax residue. It was very easy to remove the residue and i used one side(initially i folded it 3 times) on multiple panels without any smearing which means this cloth could hold on to a lot of wax residue at a time. I deliberately applied a thick wax coat on a panel and with just a little more effort the wax residue was easily removed. I bought a three pack and having been using only one mf for the last one year, yes a year. I keep good care of my mfs and this one has lasted a long time and is still buffing off wax very easily. I'm still waiting to use the remaining two mfs but this one doesn't seem to give up.
