I am just giving my set of knowledge against these questions with the view that I will learn more from the replies of you senior guys.. So where I am wrong or having wrong concept , plz guide me properly. Its more like a Quiz for me, and now I,ll be waiting to see how much marks i get when the quiz gets checked by the Pros....
1),If Compound can remove swirls than whats the use of using Scratch X2.0 for removing swirls ?
Compound is more abrasive than Scratch X,, For cars with Hard paint Scrtach X might not give desired results, where as compound Can.
Compound can be used for heavy correction as well, whereas Scrtach X cant be used for the same.
2)Also I am a noob in all this ... If I apply ultimate compound with DA ,Than does I am going to harm my paint ?
IMO, Using compound with Hand can be Harmfull, because you can never give a uniform CUT to the clear coat by hand, Obviously some places you would be applying more pressure and on some parts you,ll be applying lesser pressure, hence end result would be An un-even cut... So its always better to use compound or any other abrasive with a DA to get a uniform CUT on the whole car.
3)What is the difference between simple compound and rubbing compound?
Polishing compound of Meguiars uses SMAT technology, whereas the rubbing compound is a normal one. When i was planning to buy compound i did a bit research and found that rubbing compound cannot be used with a DA polisher, Only HAND application should be done to get the desired results. Hence I opted for Ultimate compound as I had plans to use it with the orbital polisher..
Rubbing compound As the name looks , might require it to be rubbed with passion on the surface, unlike the Polishing compound.
