True.. Dust get stuck in between the coating and the paint. We did it in our coveraged garage and no dust and no wind and it was a PIA

A 50ml is good enough for 2 cars. Provided you use it properly and don't over do it or spill. I ordered a 50ml and used two coats and still half is left .

Excellent use of the products and procedure indicating clear understanding of how to do it end to end. The writeup is very methodical as well MashAllah. A few questions your way (based on your experience/observations with the use of OC):

1. The environment you OC'ed the car in is a contaminated/dusty environment. I understand you used carpro eraser and thats anti static, but still you are working with dust around you that is likely to be trapped inside OC. Nothing you can see, but you know its there. Perhaps an early morning slot would've suited. Could this be the reason why it feels a bit grabby than being super slick (which is how it should be for lesser surface tension and staying even more cleaner)?

2. How many cars (sedans) on average can be done with it?

3. How many dots do you apply for a section coverage and does it give you a good work time or melts instantly in the surface ?

4. Most importantly, how does it change the look of car to let a 3rd person feel the car is re-painted? OC does add a few microns to the clear coat making it appear thick (something you see common on repainted cars having thick clear coat). Although its super reflective (which the repainted cars aren't), but still you know how people around operate in their judgement. Any thoughts on this ?

Yes, I did see your car everytime you shared but for some reason I thought you had done Carpro cquartz ...
Hows your opti coat coming along in the harsh weather? Any swirls appearing because of snow/storms and cleaning ?

Actually I have ordered the C quartz you are right but my Pakistani friend who owns a blue BMW and detailing guru has opticoat on his car and he applied it on my car hood only ( he had few drops only in his stock of OC 2.0) we just went to store and bought the opticoat. I still have the C quartz waiting for summer to apply on my white car. The opticoat is working very well. I washed my car once and didn't drive frequently in snow. But my friends car is daily driver and we just foam it and wash it and all dirt salt just slips down like a butter. Careful wash is required after the coat as not to damage the coating.

you can see swirls very very fine in very bright light but those are in coating and not paint.

Hope you took care of the seven day curing time needed to be give to the coating, in which the skin is not to be disturbed other than washing with water and very mild shampoo if needed

True that. Though it is safe to rinse the car after 24hrs, but conservatively I washed the car with ONR the 3rd day.

I seldom use car shampoo. 95% of the time i use ONR (rinseless wash, Garry Dean Method) and once a month use Meguiar's wash n wax.

Generally, Though OC becomes hydrophobic within no time after applying it, it becomes fully resistant to harsh chemicals within 1 week (7days) and hardens to resist light swirls within a month.

1. Rightly said bro. To cater this issue, i wiped each panel with MF damped with CarPro Eraser, just before applying the OC.

But OC being not so slick to touch has different reason, that is, it's synthetic chemical composition. CQuartz on the other hand is slicker than OC (but less durable), similarly Gtechnique Exo is more slick than CQuartz but again less durable than even CQuartz. And then Sealants are the most slick to the touch but less durable compared to the coatings.

1. OC comes in a 20cc syringe. 2 Sedans can be easily done with 20cc of OC. I used 9cc on my suzuki Alto. I am left with 11cc of OC which is enough to completely coat one of my friend's City next week, Inshallah.

2. Initially prime the applicator pad in "X" pattern and then 4-6 drops were enough for Alto's panel. It evaporates into the air instantly within 5 seconds aproximately.

3. It adds 2 microns to the paint, and those 2 micrones are harder than normal car paint that we have. Which is a plus point i suppose. I don't think any sane person will consider it the way what u are reffering to.

Thanks for the insights. Regarding #4 above, people actually get used to a look of the car so much that when they see another one appearing differently, their first guess is "repainted". I also say so from experience where I used blackfire wet diamond (which doesn't really add a thickness) on a silver 95 jdm corolla and took it to a juma bazaar (to get price idea for sale), and while many just came to appreciate how the car looked, some dealers opinion was the car was repainted. Whoever said it was repainted and asked us for the demand, we told them double the price with a serious face

Thanks alot... Ahmad bhai... ALHAMDULILLAH after complete preparation only scratches are left .. and its a single stage paint so afraid of doing gehri ragrai ..

These you are seeing are not swirls, these are scratches because in last three years only 4 or 45 times it is washed, all the time is dry dusting when the heavy layers of dust accumulated on skin... Day before Yesterday first time skin was washed with car shampoo and Yesterday skin was treated with good quality wax, previously just treated with Formula wax twice or thrice...

Opti-Coat 2.0-Method of Application:
After unscrewing the cap and replacing it with the applicator cap I was ready to go. I dabbed some very small drops of OC onto a fresh applicator and began to apply in straight line method. The Opti-Coat 2.0 is TOTALLY DIFFERENT type of product as compared to all other waxes and sealants(liquid/spray) I have tested. It appeared to evaporate quicker. After a few strokes of careful application I became confident and bolder. I should say that a little goes long. I had a separate clean plush microfiber ready in hand if in case I see any high spot. I must mention here that proper light is VERY necessary while you apply the OC to see the high spots (if any). You will yourself feel the difference during its application. I wager all the experienced and senior detailers out there that the moment u apply it very first time, u will tell yourself from your experience... "Wow!!! its different".

And the final Results:

Final observations: Looks awesome.. nothing more that I can say. Simply awesome. Compared to paint sealants and waxes its not as slick to touch, rather it feels bit grabby. But looks wise its simply outstanding.
I've noticed that now my car gets less dirty. And hell easy to maintain with ONR wash. I highly recommend this product. Atleast now I have peace of mind that OC is protecting the paint to light swirls, air borne contaminants and other alien vulnerabilities. Though there is NO NEED for any wax or sealant now but just to satisfy my urge for detailing I apply Meguiar's Ultimate quik wax whenever I feel like.

Caution: Novice detailers use it on their own risk. Experienced detailers who have practice of applying waxes and sealants REALLY THIN can handle it. Even autogeek warns before purchasing this product in following words: "Due to the unique formulation of this product, we ask that you acknowledge that you have read and understand the application and purpose of Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 before purchasing it."

soo happy to see u after almost 6 months and now wishing to kiss ur hands as no doubt ur hands having perfection, the products u used, way of application , way of describing the procedure and final outcomes VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL .

u are perfectly right these paint coating require light for even and good application as light reflection helps a lot for this purpose.

than i love ur application of ultimate polish over m205 , this combo gives ultimate finish

may be i missed to read so mentioning here again that opticoat 2.0 is panel by panel application

Imran bhai its 20cc qty so may i know how much qty consumed on ur alto ? i believe it should not be more than 10cc ( self edit : noted u consumed 9cc for alto )

ohh mere bholay badsha Fazal bhai ur car was treated in last nov with carpro reload ( its spray sprtz sealant ) or may be c quartz and not with carpro opti coat. ( self edit : ok i got it ur friend applied opti coat to ur car )

well its true paint coatings do best in room application however if u dont have this facility still early mornings is good time for this job.

opti coat 2.0 dont give sleek touch, though its touch is graby but amazingly attract very less dust
