correctly explained @dynamicallyStatic
always know your product, what is it, what it does, and how and when to apply and remove it.
Every product is different.
One rule of thumb is apply as thinly as possible, if you can see it its more than needed
but this does not mean that you don;t apply correctly.
I did mention a tip for when applying wax and you cannot see it, go for the hairline swirly reflections from the application. Also when applying the feel should be smooth, if the pad is being dragged do more passes, but not more product. the swirly reflections should be consistent and not have any patches .
Always remember, ITS BETTER to apply extremely thin, haze, buff off, again apply very thin (this time it will take much less time and effort) haze, buff off THAN apply heavily, haze and buff off
believe me, you do the first step correctly, the second coat would take max 5 minutes then 10 minutes to haze and buff (though environment play a role in this time)
and these 15-20 minutes of second pass will safe you from 15-20 minutes of extra hazing time and buffing time if applied thick and inconsistently.
