Dear Detailer brothers,

Been a silent observer of this thread, however I am looking to start some detailing myself and need your help.

First of all my Father's black city, swirls and lots and lots of them, so please suggest products. Atm I don't have anything at all. So you'll have to suggest each and every product required.

Here are the pics for the city (blush)

In a pic below you'll see this city in the background, you can judge the shine of the car from that pic I think. Or if still you guys need a pic from some distance I can take one and post here.

Next up khyber:

Its been repainted, the paint feels dull to me, I'd like the paint to be glossy and wet and there are swirls on this one as well. No shot for the swirls on khyber will try to get one and post it here.

It looks clean and from some angles shiny as well but its not really the pic below shows that there isn't much shine and the paint is dull.

Welcome to detailing.
Black paint and white paint both demand extreme care.
Black paint maginfies imperfections and white is athankless colour that refuses to live upto the effort put into it.-tries and tested.

For your black car and white car, you'll need a nice cleaner wax(especially for the white car so that the pureness of white is restored)
For swirls, i personally use and recommend meguiars ultimate compound- very forgiving and very hard to screw up with.
But lemme tell you from beforehand, you will have to clean your car yourself by washing it with the double bucket method only. No other method of cleaning the car or it will inflict swirls again.
Then you can go with either Meguiars ultimate paste wax for both cars and if you have a little extra $$, then #26 paste wax for the city.
You will also need a good shampoo, wash mitts, mf towels(atleast 2).

Yep! I would go for the clay kit instead of new car kit if i were you, but-your money your call..

Dear Bro, Consider the following Detailing items:

1. Purchase a good Car Shampoo either from Turtle or Meguiars (Always wash with double bucket method)
2. Clay Bar (Do a baggie test first, Clay is used to remove contamination of the paint skin and smooth out the paint)
3. Wet Sanding (if there is Orange peel and deep scratches and swirls) - MUST BE DONE BY PROFESSIONAL
4. Megs Ultimate Compound (Twice or once in a year depends on the condition or new swirls)
5. Megs Ultimate Polish (Twice or once in a year depends on the condition or new swirls)
6. Megs Cleaner Wax (for white Khyber - must be used every 2 to 3 months) - NOT CONFIRMED THAT IT CAN BE USED ON BLACK COLOR OR NOT
7. Sealant (for protection of car skin)
8. Megs Ultimate Paste wax or Megs Gold Class or Megs Hitech Yellow Wax (Gold Class and Hitech Yellow not recommended for white color)
9. Set of Microfibers
10. After that be regular, try to wash the car by yourself and dont do dry dusting.

Rest is perfect, just lemme add that there is no need to wetsand unless you have orange peel like usman bhai diid the on the land cruiser. Cleaner wax is good for all paints, white, black, yellow,etc.. It removes previous layers of wax and restores purity in paint. I've used zymol cleaner wax with excellent results on my cuore.

you can get meguiars ones

other than ultimate compound you need to seal the pain after compounding, you can use a sealant if sticking to meguiars then their m21 sealant or a synthetic wax like meguiars ultimate paste wax and top that up with a non cleaner carnauba wax for depth, i personally prefer dodo juice purple haze for topping up, meguirs gold class carnuba waxes have cleaners so on top of synthetic the combo won't last long

you can adda glaze like mirror glaze from meguiars or meg ultimate polish in between compounding and wax if you want for more shine

Thank you for the reply brother. I'd like to clarify a few things since have never done this:

Looking at the black city does it need wet sanding? you mentioned it on point 3)

About point 4) and 5) should I use both of these on the black city? Or do I only need one? And point 8) that is for regular washing right?
Also should the sealant be used after every car wash?

Nopes, dont need wetsanding atm....can do with a abrassive session ! You need to comp to get the bigger defects out n polish to get the lost gloss an depth back along with giving it a fine finish ! You dont need to reseal the car after every wash.....bi monthly is the most Id go with ! Indeed the waxes are for regular weekly uses....though if I were you....instead of going towards attaining a show car finish...Id take pics of the hood or trunk under the lights....make a reasonable idea of the swirl content....and maintian the car as you would after the finish....after a week take another pic under the same light....an compare them...seee if you have been able to maintain the finish.....and not induced new swirls into the paint......if you are able to maintain it.....then only go for the cut..!

Well I wash khyber myself and take father's car to the service station, but will change that now.

Listing down the products to start with then:

1) Meguiars Ultimate compound
2) Meguiars Cleaner wax paste
3) Shampoo, wash mitts and mf towels

I am sorry couldn't understand some parts of your so I'll summarize let me know if I got it right. For now I just need to use the ultimate compound and paste wax and if I am not incurring more swirls only then go for the sealant?

In preparation for the eid i decided to do a small detailing session on the car. Started on saturday and then finshed today.

Please do say MashAllah.

On saturday washed the car. Applied meg endurance tyre gel on the tyres. The rest of the days to clean the tyres i just cleaned them with plain water and just dried with a microfibers and the tyres were cleaned and looked as good as new.

On Sunday the gave a detailer wipe, clayed the car, washed it, polished it with ultimate polish, APC wipe and then applied AF tough coat sealant on the car and the windscreen.

On Tuesday then washed the car again to get a feel of the water beading and then car gave a coat of Meg #26. I must what a amazing wax m26 is.

On wednesday just cleaned the tyres with plain water and gave the car dodo juice detailer wipe.

bro means its not neccesory to detail a car in a single day.? . ithough that its must for a car to detail it in a day in same tym. it means that i can wash my car today wax it tommorow and polish it next day

Well the slickness and water beading is really great. Claying is the major cause of the slickness. But the combo of AF tough coat and AF paint prep are really great too and they furtger enhance the slickness.*

The water beading and water sheating *is great, its like the water doesnt want to stay on the pain. This makes drying the car very easy. In sha Allah on my next wash I'll do water sheeting and wter beading video.

Btw i really love your work on that swift. I really love suzuki's red amd that dark blue color because they look really good when detailed. And in your hands the red is doing great. Hope to see more pictures soon.

Yes its not necessary to all your detailing session in one go. I did my detailing over a period of time because first of the weather, its really hot and doing the detailing in one go really drains you plus i wanted to give the products proper curing time like the sealant requires atleast 3 hours before a second coat or wax is applied. But it is a better to compund + polish + sealant or any other protection in one go so that once you remove paint defects you instantly protect all your hardwork.

But the negative thing about doing your detailing session over a period of time is that you ave to clean your car each day you are to start a new process. Happy detailing.
