The gearlever vinyl on my jeep has lost a bit of color at the top from black to white. diy, repaint? what do i need to do to get this fixed?

The top layer has vanished from what I can see......in a diy you can tan it out in the same colour.....in my opinion it`ll be easier for you to get the same boot made an replace it with this one.....

need a little help
I had 3M so called paint protection film on door edges. Dust and mud was accomulating inside the door edges and since the car is new, I removed them. They have left a very stubborn sticky residue. I tried using apc, degreaser, compound, wd 40 etc but the residue is not fully removed. Can anyone guide me how to remove the sticky residue without damaging the paint?
oh yea, used an old blade too, it removed the residue but I damaged the paint slightly so thats a BIG NO

Baraaaa hi asan haaal hai.......hair dryer try karo loo.....mildly heat it an it should come out....otherwise 3M sells an adhesive remover as well....I think that will be the best possible solution....

Washed with turtle ice last sunday.
I'm stuck with waterless washes most of the time and im kinda sick of it!
The paint is a bit dry and not glossy like before. Kuch kartey hein iss ka!

Nuke it with some Nuba......eau-de-naturale.......

Just my personal opinion based on the comments and method used on the page.
NO. RUN AWAY.FAR AWAY.

He washed the undercarriage with megs Hyperwash and calls it a grease and oil cutter... it cant get any stupider than that.

He uses a monster, huge karcher pressure washer 4inches away from the car.
(I have a chooha 100bar one and I dont dare to put my hand infront of it)

He has no idea what a claybar is. His foam is enough for decontamination as it has"nano" technology similar to the exo shield.

His funniest statement was," we dont glass coat shi*, we exo shield it."....
Lol.

He even tested his exo shield with fire. I mean ive heard water tests...but fire?...lol

They also wetsand any car they get even if its a vintage car. Paying no attention to paint measurements.

I can go on and on..

As you mentioned they never use a clay bar, and the most disturbing scene was one where he compounded a vintage jaguar. YOU never compound a vintage car. Always polish it with lots and lots of polishing oils to nourish the paint.

Anyhow, there are people dumb enough to hand over their land cruiser, porsche to this guy then who is to blame..

As you mentioned they never use a clay bar, and the most disturbing scene was one where he compounded a vintage jaguar. YOU never compound a vintage car. Always polish it with lots and lots of polishing oils to nourish the paint.

When it comes to a vintage car it depends on much more than how old it is.
You have to measure the depth of the paint and visually inspect it for primer peeking out of the edges.

Is the car on factory paint?
Does the car have oxidation?
Does the car have deep swirls?
Has the car been 'kamponded'(desi compound on a wool pad with a crazy rotary)
Does the car have a custom paint job?
Is it clearcoated?
Is it metallic?

I remember @vague_one once got a vintage benz which was barbarian compounded several times and the factory paint job was on its last breath. He clayed it and didn't even polish it. Several rounds of m07 glaze with the correct technique and with hard work, the paint looked like new and all the imperfections were masked. Zero abrasives used.

This is exactly what I read on Mike phillips thread. M07 is one of the oldest formulations and can perform wonders, particularly for old single stage paints.

100s of people in karachi can take out your carpet, most service stations can, its another story who can fit it back perfectly again, why don't you get carpet and upholstery cleaner like of astonish and a detailing brush or a soft brush and do it yourself, you can easily find astonish at most supermarkets like naheed.

to me it doesnt look like dust on the paint on the strip, it looks like contamination, maybe it comes after driving in rain or do you have wider than factory tyres installed? i know of a cayenne turbo who used to get exact same contamination in same spot and after much investigation is used to come form the big callipers and rims after driving in rain,

to clean it don't use abrasives but clay it and seal it and see if it comes back, if its still comes back then use a tar remover or AF iron out to get rid of it

astonish costs 176Rs, you can ofcours buy better products which are more expensive but this product is quite good and way cheaper than even going to service station
