Once I got headlights of my Baleno washed and smoked from inside and buffed from outside. After some time I felt that they have turned yellowish from outside as there was no chance for dust to get in. So Yesterday and last sunday I applied the wax on the headlights also and then picked the wax with buffer and now I can see them shining again;)

i use formula or armorall interior polish on them. it also gives great results.

chalain jee mai ap sai apne maslay ka poochta hn. i have a red margalla 13 years old. the problem is that the paint is fading. how can i stop this. the car is waxed weekly.

and a question. do you guys use the same paint on airplanes as cars?

I don't have any idea about the prices, so there is no fixed budget.

You can see the washing mitt in the photos. I am using it from about 1.5 or 2 years for removing dirt and applying shampoo. I have no complaint with it and I cannot detail my car without it.

Oh yes jazzy, it is tempting me, and im a retro kind of a guy, the colour is kinda killer too, love it, and next time there should be complete shots of the baleno man, definitely one of the best baleno's ive seen.

InshAllah over the period of next few days i will be giving you guys all my
steps which i do to maintain my car (actually this is now my dads car),i bought my self an Xli new one . so now i maintain both of them.and its good for all of us that now i am in the process of getting the same shine on a white car :P.
i will be posting rule by rule

RULE NO 1

Never allow your driver to touch your or your dads car...only he should be allowed to touch the common car used by every one.

brother,,, by my reckoning, you car did not came with the clear coat .10 years back the technology used was to mix hardner, lacquer in a percentage 50/50 to the paint . and then this mixture was sprayed all together in one coat.so your car paint faded becoz of aging and there is no cure for that .. u can only slow the process by having a clear coat on top of it but since its already faded so you will not be getting the looks of a new car ..
technology used now a days is :-
1.primer
2.base coat(paint colour which is the cars colour)+ hardener(which is a catalyst to cure it )
3. The clear coat (normally called "laaker" lacquer) the shining part .

The only difference between a normal car paint and a aviation paint is that its a high speed plus high temperature paint specifically engineered for that speed (teflon based)

What about plast x, no sanding required, it is like a liquid wax, you rub it onto the headlight, and it visibally improves the condition.

Yawar you can go along with the headlight kit, but yer light will turn yellow after sometime, only thing you can do then is use the kit once more.......it`s like one of those "GALAY PARNAY WALI" things...you cant rid yerself of it if you want once you start it

Congratulations guys on getting the mark of 4000 posts. But greater the posts, greater is the difficulty to find some particular information
Guys suggest me a good wax for my brand new Honda City. Its White in colour. Never been waxed, just washed once. (I don't want heavily expensive ones)
Also suggest me some product to clean the engine bay of my Suzuki Khyber. The product which I can use my self without damaging the engine components.

JazakAllah on the post count ! Were working on making an index preety soon it will be up........for a white car any premium brand wax will do......speeds wax is insanely good for its price! For the engine you can try the Turtle Wax Crimson Red.....very nice product.....Ive nearly finished testing it....will review it soon!!

Solution then, what if someone wants to restore the lights?

A friend's car headlight has turned a little hazy, he used toothpaste to clean it, and it had turned a little dull than the one which he didnt use the toothpaste on, any tips and tricks which i could give him, other than plast x or anything else.

Toothpaste??? :S Duno how that wouldve helped!!! Try multiple waxing......or dashboard spray.......cuz dash spray does work on plastics......if you want to go onto the headlight kit, you`ll just have to repeat the process whenever the light goes yellow...no biggie on that

Actually I think that when I am using buffer it will make a layer of the wax on these uncovered areas too. But still I will take care next time.

M105 works best on headlights.If you are using a rotary with the wool pad,then use 205 else alone M105 will do wonders.Cheetay actually problem is that you need to be careful after restoring your headlights.This can be done by frequent waxing.If the person's car you are doing wax his car weekly or even once in a month, then you should go like monkey on his headlight with M105

Yes, that's right.Alone M205 by hand will remove a very fine layer and then you can top it up with a good wax, like two to three times.But you can check the condition of lights yourself.A best idea is to buy a masking tape,cover a very small portion of the headlights and do a test spot with M205.If that does nothing, you can proceed with M105.Once satisfied with the results, remove the masking tape and do the whole headlight.What say?
