Car Care and Detailing Dreams

hey guys i got a car this week.i want to know about
how to wash/clean its interior and exterior and maintain its showroom look.
All i know about the car is how to drive
nothing else.Things under hood looks hebrew to me.
and please recommend me products which usually give good results.
i tried to read this thread but its very long.
any help is highly appreciated

The information which tayyab provided is extremely useful and helpful
If you follow it, it would help to keep your car as good as new over a very long time period.

All you need is a good car shampoo, a good pair of Microfibre cloths, and a quality wax.

The products im using are

Shampoo: Speed Autocare Shampoo
Microfibre Cloths to wash/dry/buff the car
Wax: Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba Wax or Turtle Ice Wax Synthetic Polish.

I was detailing my alto today, so i had an epiphany that during this dengue season all detailing maniacs should be most careful!! As most of us detail there rides near dawn and dusk, this particular dengue machar strikes within that time. And since we wash our rides, we should be particularly careful as to not let water stand as puddles. Washing while wearing shorts should be avoided!!

talking of machar i pulled out the insect killer machine from the store today and let it run overnight, it didnt let me sleep, tik tik sound every five minutes, so many mosquitos

Welcome to the thread! I hope you enjoy it.
Here are my recommendations:
Since you are new to this, and you have a brand new car. I suggest the following:
Washing: Get a microfibre mitt and Turtle Wax ICE Shampoo.
Drying: Get either a synthetic chamois or microfibre towel.
Waxing: Get Turtle Wax ICE Synthetic Polish.
Buffing: For that you'll need another microfibre towel. ICE Polish comes with a very nice MF towel and an applicator pad.
The detailing procedure is very well explained in Tayyab's post.
For Interior care, get the Protectant from Reflections line of MOTHERS.

Indeed a free paint job! An aerosol can doesn't cost much and the good thing about it is that u won't have worry about clear coat any more

no but i wouldnt mind making ur alto my car's sibling with some concentrated hcl or some thinner, ohh and i think a car cover also cant withstand hcl if you know what i mean:P

O'levels Chemistry is at work here, I see! Koi nai, u'll know that the chem u brag about in o'levels is actually wrong, when u grow up and move onto a'levels :D. I can assure you that my alto can actually withstand the thinner here as it does not have a SINGLE STAGE PAINT :o

chotay science daan, i still dnt agree to the type of single stage paint u refer to! read my post carefully again where i say that my alto does not have a single stage paint! you should stick ur o'level chem here saying tht pre-soak makes plastic brittle is surely next level stuff!! :o
