I used to own a vitz some time back, an 06 model. I tried a few interior care products but i just wasnt satisfied with the oily look and if it wasnt the look then the oily FEEL of the interior. In the end what worked best was a mixture of ariel and luke warm water with a new cotton cloth. Believe me the first time i tried this combination i could not believe the end results. The car smelled and looked like it had rolled out of a factory in japan a day back. The catch is, the ariel mixed in the water should be completely dissolved first, i.e no small solid grainy particles, otherwise ur gonna put minute scratches on that JDM interior of urs. Oh I will surely try the ariel trick and Turtle ICE too. Just confused over which product to get for the exterior. Gonna get a week off for eid so surely gonna wax my car then. I know mothers and maguires are good, but i dnt wanna spend too much when i am still new to the detailing stuff.

bad_cheetah an stingray have guided you on the interior..........Bhai aap ko gari say pyar nai hai ?? Yan hamsaiyoun ki gari hai ?? Formula ka scratch out marnay lagay hoo......ustad go for somthin better......woh to karawai hai buss.....if you must then its a panel a time....well you could use a glaze to bring out the glossy look in your paint.....or you can use a clay bar to cleanse your paint......

How much Claybar needed?
1.That depends on the condition of your car's paint.How have you been washing the car?Have you been waxing it?Is it exposed to dust too often?.For instance, if a 3 years old car hasn't been waxed since day one and washed by the service stations, then it may need one whole claybar or two claybars.Usually, it happens when you claybar on a really dusty car, the claybar completely gets filled with dust and you have to replace it with a new one.Using the same dusty claybar can cause scratches because the dust granules which has been taken off by the claybar will scratch the clear coat.

How to use it?

2.Claybar is not wet at all.It is a bar of clay treated with chemicals to pull of the toughest dirt or grime.To make the claybar wet,a detailer spray is given.You need to spray the detailer spray on the claybar as well as the panel you are working on.Once both the things are wet,you start doing claybar on the panel.

WARNING: If you happen to drop your clay bar, dispose it and not use it again.The dirt from the ground will stick to the claybar and will result in severe scratches if applied to the panel you are working on.

Claybar actually cleans the paint.You asked about Cleaner Waxes,they also do the same job as a claybar.The only difference is cleaner waxes are abrasive.

After you claybar the whole car,you can wash it to remove any residue and proceed to the next stage.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Is there any specific brand of claybar that I should buy? And I should first wash my car, clean it with clay bar, wash it again, dry it and then wax?

Three I can recommend.....turtle wax ice clay bar kit, meg`s clay bar kit an mothers clay bar kit.....Procedure is wash,dry, clay an then wax

Morning guys, today when i was reading this thread 1 thing make me laugh and angry too @ margallar: brother are u ok these days? or seems like you are paying you all attention at workshops with your car, brother, u are playing with these detailing polishes and other stuff for a while, how could u suggest some 1 using petrol on cleaning bay and other stuff?and the WD40? and PRE SOAK ? rust remover? me and vauge1 and junaid, did my friend engine bay with it, we just use presoak with pressure bottle and vauge 1 used v v sharp eye and mind while applying it, it is not a children homework yar,

do some home work and then share the results with all of your mention totkay, seems like u are impressed with desi mechanics who clean bay with methi ka tail ik din workshop gia hai r sara kch apna gawa aya hai yar?

Just to be very clear, NO a cleaner wax and a clay bar do not do the same thing. Clean yes but in very different ways. A clay bar only removes the dirt and grime etc which cannot be removed by the washing process and leaves the surface crystal clean ready for the next step. It does not remove any swirls or correct by minor defects. It will also not remove any clear coat if used in the correct way.

A cleaner wax on the other hand DOESNOT ave the same cleaning power, yes it does remove some dirt and grime while it TAKES A VERY SMALL PORTION OF THE CLEAR COAT OFF. Therefore it will provide swirl removal and some paint correction ability.

Both are used for very different purposes !

um considering the nature of paint and your application you don't really need M105 .. Just 2 passes on a DA with a polishing pad should give you very good results. Just clay the car before you go for correction. Helps immensely !

Andddd yeah, you wanna do that, I’d suggest you to open up your own thread, so nobody pops in and manage things in your own way.. and yeah we’d all appreciate if you let people like vague1 and devils_apprentice etc.. answer queries of people like us.. rather than jumping in and answering on their behalf.. you, just like me, are still in the learning phase.. so adapt to it, rather than active in a way that you’re the expert.. we all have our edges.. you must be an expert on something.. excel in that and then lead the way.. follow in the others.. e.g. we have a tire expert, baleno expert, detailing expert, mercedese experts, we have sound system experts.. I say I am not a leader in any of these.. that guy whom i suggested petrol had an engine bay with all cabling and hoses removed, and the battery removed, the engine bay had not been touched for a long time and he lived in an area where there are no stores keeping detailing stuff, no degreasers no nothing (barakho between islamabad and murree). what options are there except petrol? sure i wont answer queries in ur place no problem and i am not trying to earn from detailing someone else's engine bay, he is my cousin i am doing it for free

simple hai even if a person want to detail his BAY and calling u to come over there then y don't U take ur toys along with yourself? tell him the price that bla bla will come in this price and bla bla in that, and u said u are doing for bhai chara then hosla rakh rakh k jaa . assume that u are in the battle field and u don't have your weapons , then whats it gona be? so take your weapons at cousins place and do it, no offense yar but think again

^he just asked what he could do immediately as car was at some workshop and the engine bay was in perfect condition to clean, i wont be going till next month, what harm could it do,petrol wont be poured onto the parts, it would be sprayed with pressurized air. it evaporates within a minute, the fact that all rubber parts were removed was why i said wd40, as for the rust removal part i got that thing in my mind from this pic, you can see some rust around the nut , that reddish stuff, it isnt there in hte second pic
i didnt really mean use it to de rust your ride, i meant to use it to remove light stains caused by rust,

and someone was asking me why i told him to spray pressure water, i never said that, i said spray pressure petrol, it is safe for electronics(this is a personal experience, i use it to clean my pc motherboard and so do electricians), i only asked him to use a damp cloth

Ever heard of a product called , " The new car kit" and "Ultimate compound" by meguairs? i think ud want these as a starter to the art of detailing. First wash ur car thoroughly with a good car shampoo (not the wash n wax included in the new car kit, ud need somethin tough), then dry ur car with the water magnet towel from the kit, next treat any swirls on ur ride with the ultimate compound and then seal that good finish with the Ultimate wax included in the new car kit. Final buff off shud be with the supreme shine microfibre included in the kit, Do ur tires with the endurance gel in the kit. For all subsequent washings use the wash n wax included in the kit. Ud probably spend around 6000 on these products but u wont regret it for abt a year n half to come.

Carnauba Waxing, Gold Class
Synthetic Waxing, Turtle Ice Polish
Turtle Professional Line Detailer

The car is now definitely a class apart.

Moreover had a great time, Me, Usman Bhai and Shahid Bhai, Junaid_gangs is at shahid bhai's place capturing some nice pictures.
