Car Care and Detailing Dreams

hi guys,
after reading all your comments and looking at all the work which you guys have done made me also want to do something in regard to 'car detailing' i have developed an interest in this thing after looking and reading through the posts. i really wanted to do something in this field.
but the thing is that what do i do it on because i don't have a car here in the UK. so what i decided to do is to ask my boss to let me do it on his car and surprisingly he agreed. but he did not let me take pictures of his car, but i have managed to get the pictures of the things i bought and the place where i got them from. i hope you guys like it.
it took me around 6 hours on the car inside/out and i was dead tired, i also had a back pain after doing the job:-#
i cannot wait to get back home and try all these things on my car ' Honda City Vario' white.. i know it will be difficult to do a white colour but i am ready to have a back pain again :D:D
i had a limited budget given to me by my boss to get things and i did not buy things such as the the 'Clay bar kit' which i regret. Nevertheless i have bought it for my own car

the first things was that i did a little research on the internet to get the best deal and i found the 'Turtle Wax Platinum Deluxe Car Valet Set' which included:

• Turtle Wax Platinum Precision Car Wax 500ml
• Turtle Wax Platinum Performance Car Wash 500ml
• Turtle Wax Platinum Performance Wheel Cleaner 500ml
• Turtle Wax Platinum Sparkling Glass Clean 500ml

• Car Wash Sponge, Polishing Cloth, Microfibre Cloth & Deluxe Black Bucket

i also bought Even Coat Microfiber Applicator Pads from Meguiar's which were excellent.
i dont have the pictures of the car and the whole process but i am attaching the pictures of the things i bought and where i bought it from. sorry for the blurry pictures

Oh before I forget, yesterday had a leeeetal meetup with the fotografi wala Sialkoti kaka, @jazzy77 a.k.a. Hassan Laeq.......mate it was a blast meeting you.....thanks for taking the time an coming over to meet up....real gem of a guy to talk to.....wish I had more time an could have detailed yer lil hotwheels for ya....InshAllah next time.....oh an please do write up if you need help with the prods!!!

Just came home from the college after the long all day boring revision class so posting now.

Salam, I am really impressed by the awesome effort you guys do to take care of your cars.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask about a 36 year old diesel Charade which has oil, grease and what-not marks all over its paint :. The car has quite an unpleasant appearance and the marks seem permanent. Could you please suggest if I should get it compounded by a denter or can my regular car wash guy handle it amicably? Some people have talked about a cut cream but I don't know if it would be able to remove the deep marks.

The car has quite an unpleasant appearance and the marks seem permanent. Could you please suggest if I should get it compounded by a denter or can my regular car wash guy handle it amicably? Some people have talked about a cut cream but I don't know if it would be able to remove the deep marks.

noooooooooooooooooooo do not bring compound near her, atleast not that desi stuff. we can direct you better if you give close up pics, but oil stains do not need compound treatment, the proper remedy can be given when you show detailed pics so paint condition may be judged

Mate, welcome to the thread, Masha`Allah didnt know we were inspirin people beyond borders......quite a big acquisition........some serious detailing done I presume from the time margin mentioned.....an the back pain panga is mutual here my friend..............so I guess nows the time to be talking to bosssy boss about that raise an that lil car innit Loved the pics, absolute heaven......sadly we have our shackles of economy here, but slowly an surely, people are changing......waiting to have you back here an detailin that vario! I hope you can post pics of that....

Wsalam bro, JazakAllah for appreciating the work of the members here......an yes this is the right place to ask, instead of goin to a harsh compound, why dont you try a cleaner wax? A good quality cleaner wax applied properly should be enough to take the marks out......but first you give it a wash with a heavy duty shampoo like the speed auto care one....an then the cleaner wax...hopefully youll get yer ride spot free !! An simply no no to the cut cream....youve got an ol car, dont go abrasive with the paint......mild is the key!

Buddy...saw the pics in detail after I got home...and you have done a great job with these pics, as in not only have you given a somewhat pictorial tour about the range in various brands (for those who do not want to open a new tab and go to specific websites) but THERE ARE ALSO PRICES IN THERE...which is excellent and will help out a lot of us who are new into this hobby. Gives the price idea and even serves the purpose of price comparison...excellent excellent...

BTW, we understand you can't share the pics because your boss won't allow you take 'em but mate, atleast let us use our imaginations by telling us which car was it that you almost broke your back on...

have two of their prods bro, spirit, cost aroun 98 pounds back a few months, an tough coat........pretty high end prods......very very nice results.....but for that kina money i was lookin at insane results......the results were good, but not worth the extra pounds you have to dish out against say a dodo juice......so end result.....if you got dallar to splurge around then sure!!! Otherwise in the words of the great dr.shaggy.......jjjooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooss!!!

Sorry mate, was driving all day today, had gone to Sialkot, just got back here an giving a go at the thread an wallah, what do I find here......eyes were going shut an all off a sudden, pop they opened up....scrolled back up to see the user name an some good ol memories came back....MashaAllah.....I guess the candid review last time did some good....:).....gota hand it, round two is coooooool!!!! Its very coooool! Very nice routine, very nice results......now thats a Pinnacle shine.....an it shows.......you made every single penny count this time......

Ustad, yeh petrol wali detailing kuch harsh nahin ho jati engine kay laiy? I mean its bound to attack rubber insulations,paint,plastics......maybe right now you didnt get that much of a feel of the damage, but mark my words, a couple of times down the road, yer engine aint gona be lookin pretty....an yes, I do give you credit for the time well spent on the ride, the engine does look very clean.....a bit GLOSSY for me....but hey if it rings yer bell...fine by me!!! Nice results an effort, just that you played with the wrong kind of stuff......

After a long trip to islamabad, the car needed to be cleaned. So plan is to wash it and then wax it with mother syn wax and top it of with reflection's Top coat.. This time the pictures were taken with a DSLR :D...

its Halfords. do go there.. apart from this detailing products they have a hugeeee range.. but i find their prices in other products to be higher. do let me know when you're here.

thanks mate,, i've been on pakwheels since in came to pakistan this year summers. joined recently yes very serious detailing i did on his ride.. but his car has so much dust again seems he drives through sand
even i can't wait to get back home and do detailing on my vario.. for that i'm going to get orbital/DA but confused which one to get.. there's so much to do on vario. and offcourse for that all pics will be uploaded without a doubt! (H) thanks for the appreciation

thanks for the appreciation. about the results, the black colour turned into a black mirror and the interior of the car is beige which was also black but hours of hard work brought the orignal colour back. i will try to get more detailed prices when i go to this store next time...
and i will also try to get pictures of his car when he is not around :-#
its a volvo jeep. :S i've told him to buy range rover though and he's looking forward to it

heheheh, like I said, duno if it would be useful.....awain testing !!! The way I thought of it was that rr is supposed to prevent water from stayin on the glass surface,so it might stop moisture from accumulatin on them as well on the inside....though the glass might be easier to wipe off even in moisture does accumulate......aik aur syasi bayan!!! Please do share some trick up your sleeve......I face this prob in winters too, esp my Mehran, no de-fogger at the rear window an the mornin reverse outa the house is a stunt on its own!!

maybe some of the turtle ice synthetic polish may do the trick.

There is no way rr could wipe out the mist inside the glass but its perfact for giving you boost into fastlanes at highways even without the help of vipers;).

To avoide mist you must have to install defoger.
