Ilm me izaafa to ho hi raha hai Sachi bat yeh hai k kafi din se thread nahi parh raha, papers going. The PM conversation has depicted your personality well and i was really surprised by your down to earth attitude so that is the reason i simply asked the question ! without any hesitation.

Baray bhaiyya menay mothers ki wax isliye rakhdi wapis k abhi i dont consider myself qualified enough to do a (good) wax job, mene socha shampoo karne me to koi masla nahi, isliye wax chordi ... ghar aya to dekha k formula 1 ki hi wax pari hai ghar pe, sar pakar lia

so today mixed the shampoo in the water bucket of the car cleaning guy, then after he finished, i waxed my car with that formula 1 carnauba wax (i think it is not a good product) and wiped it off after it had dried out.

by the way, love your helpful attitude and insight for everyone's ride. love ur attention to your 'subjects'.

@ravin...thanks...was not planning on putting the pics but since you asked for it here are some pics taken from a crappy bb cam (got busy detailin' forgot to charge the point and shoot's batt)

1st pic Taken on Sunday after the final wipe...just the hood...the hood was the most difficult part I found to detail in the beginning..well now...not so

The remaining pics have been taken now (wed)...Sunday was full detail, Monday was top coat with a wax enhancer, Tuesday was damp wipe (with the ostrich dropping on the hood) and today was mid week wipe with the detailer...which was finished at 9am...so the pics are with 3 hours of dust on it....next detailer wipe either fri or sat...let's see...(still in the process of making a fixed routine)

Takes the same time, as wet/damp wipe (if you do it carefully)...depending on the level of dust on the car...it takes anywhere between 15 mins to 25 mins (minus the mirrors/glasses)...instead of dampening the MF with water, I simply spray detailer on it...simple...apply with damp side...swipe to shiine with the other. A whole car takes all eight sides (four for damp wipe and four to shine)...

best of all it's a good morning work out. I am actually tempted to increase the detailer wipe from two per week to more.

Please correct me if i am wrong. What i normally do is that i first dust off the layer of dust on the car body, later i damp the MF (not moist, but fully damp) with water and wipe off. lastly i apply the quick detailer/wax enhancer (turtle's ultra gloss detailer).

Is it the right process? if yes, then its too time taking:(
But from ur post what i understand is that u dont dust off / wipe off the dust prior to applying the detailer... so i think those little dust granules might create swirls...

hmmm...V1 should be able to give the exact and concise verdict on this one...but one thing which I know (thanks to V1) do not wipe the dust off with a dry MF...Do it with a damp one (I use detailer instead of water...if you go a few pages back, he even mentioned the fact a detailer is mostly water mixed with certain chemicals). However, the pure V1 method is dab/pat the dust out with a damp MF before wiping.

Swirls..yeah..mine had 'em...so really can't tell if I am making any new ones...but I don't see the car adding in more swirls...plus I make sure that all wipes are slow and easy and in a uni directional motion...it is not until I am into the swipe and shine stage when I go into the circular buffing...hell yeah I might be creating some swirls but in the words of Surf Excel..."SWIRLS NAHI TO SEEKHNA NAHI"

Again I would throw the ball in V1's court. But my logic says that the dampness makes the dust particles soft...take an example of a wet wipe...a wet wipe works more effectively on our body than a dry tissue. A dry tissue will not clean so well and will not soften your hand but a wet wipe not only cleans instantly but also makes it soft...and I guess that is why he specifically says...to dab the wet MF on the dust first (so that dust goes soft and the MF picks up/soaks in most of it especially the large harmful ones)

It has taken me a lot of constraint not to use a dry cloth or even an MF on the car...Ask V1 who has given me a few lectures on this...Dust on the car bothers me...A black car in Karachi...gathers dust in like 5 minutes...I am the sorta guy who would dust his car (irrespective of where I am) everytime I step out of the car...finally after several warnings from Usman...I am controlling this habit...now I just look at the dust and say.."I'lLL SEE YOU TOMORROW MORNING!!!"

Bird droppings are a different story...

BINGOOOOOOOO!!!! The damp mf acts as a magnet an sucks the dust particles off the surface......simply by dabbing the surface you are removing the dust particles in a safe manner.....though when you use the swipe or stroke method...what happens is on the initial stroke, the front of the mf starts to absorb dust....an when it reaches its maximum capacity an can absorb no more it just starts to build up a line of the dust. If it at this point, which is hardly a couple of inches, you still proceed to stroke the mf, that line of dust will get rubbed across the surface of the paint, or come under the point of pressure from where you are holding the mf and eventuallly cause "swirls"

Sigh....sarkar if you used a good quality swirl remover an yet caused bigger ones....I think the problem lies in your application......what were you using to apply it? What procedure were you using ? Heres the proper procedure for it, analyse where you went wrong...Wash and dry car. Ensure vehicle surface is cool to the touch. Do not use in direct sunlight. Shake product well. Pour Turtle Wax Scratch and Swirl Remover onto a damp cloth or foam applicator and apply to problem area. Rub problem area with firm pressure until blemish disappears. Buff lightly with a microfiber or clean cotton cloth. Reapply if necessary.

then I guess you need more time to play with waxes an paints before you get into the swirl remover......what solution I can offer you is to mask the swirls.....now if I recommend you a glaze, Im still thinking on the lines of "you might not pull it off" so invest in turtle black box.....simple two step process....clean the paint an wax it.....youll be able to mask up the swirls without too much problem.....just a reminder....detailing ennni wi sookhi nai!!
