Car Care and Detailing Dreams

I do follow all the steps as officially declared by V1 and Mistero..... but i rinse the car after doing each part.... and at the end i do a quick re shampoo on whole car and rinse it again.

I never open the door and spray water on the sides, rather i do like @mistero and clean it will a wet microfiber.

At the end, i use my small air compressor with a nozzel and remove all water inside the side mirrors, under the side mirros, behind number plates, front grill (as it is fav place of water to hide and start to drip when start waxing) and once i am sure there is no water left on car i am done with the car washing.

coming sat going to be very busy for me first prepration of car then some personal face treatment like complete gel bath, claybar ( to clean the face surface and remove oxidation and dust etc ). polishing ( to remove some of secratches , wrinkles on face and get new fresh skin), glazing ( for adding some smoothness, natural shine and also for masking remaing light wrinkles), sealent ( seal all the process and protect it for sunday gtg ) and than waxing and detailing wipe ( for giving very fresh look, softness, high glow ) :P:P:P

joke apart i am getting anxious to meet you all my brothers:)

I had been draggin @Shazo all around town searching for paint removal from the tappet & timing chain cover......JazakAllah buddy for bearing me...poor ol soul spent all day in Bilal Gunj locating them!

fortunatly last evening also met Umair bhai ( kse101), it was very plesent meeting with him, he is such a nice guy, he got a turtle detailer spray bottle ( turtle detaling series )

My first one shampooing is with a sponge but is done in the flinging mitt style...so that I get rid of most of the dirt through the shampoo with minimum contact...my second shampoo (after rinsing) coat is however massage style with the shampoo poured directly on the sponge...every inch of the car is massaged in the shampoo.

i also do the same, as Omer bhai does. dont know y but me always satisfied with 2 coats of shampooing


After your last post...I have been drying it like that and quite successfully too. However, my weak point has been highlighted as BLUE in your text. How can we tell that how much of that wetness that has been left behind will evaporate and how much will become water marks. In simple words...WHEN TO STOP wiping MF to make the car squeaking dry?

[I]Omer bhai, I think what ever the water is left over on the paint surface after initial soft wipeout, it normally doesn't create water marks because surface area is clean plus the water that has been left over is quite clean, so when it evaporates, it wont make water marks. Watermarks are only created if either the surface is impure or if the water is not clean.

yeah I do two step washing as well...Pre-shampoo rinse, Shampoo, Rinse, shampoo and then final rinse...and then dry.

However, drying and evaporating...my question still remains...how much wetness can you risk to leave for evaporating that won't leave water marks?

MashAllah you know what to do yourself, what are you worried about? There is no need for you go into swirl removers an stuff at the moment....forget the ultimate comps an the scratch an swirl removers.....just wax it boy!

Now coming to the GTG, aik lakh rupaya entry fee hai, you must own a ferrari atleast as a qualifying point, you must have a 20'' bicep......come on yar! Snap outa it, its a detailers gtg, not your marrige proposal, what are you afraid of? Yer not in touch with any of us ? To Uncle aap ko answers hum kiya samajh kar day rahay hain? Formalities choro meray bhai, come over in yer pj`s for all its worth....bring your detailing stuff, ask questions, put names to faces,interact with the other people who are chronically addicted to touchin cars....have a good time...thats what this detailing gtg is all about...kuch hum say sekho, kuch humay sikhao....

Got an extra large bottle of Armor shampoo...Three times the amount in almost the same price of a 500 ml bottle in Karachi...plus I got a glass MF totally free with it. So for 22 AED...i got stuff worth of around PKR 1500. not bad. I got this for my mid week shampoos...I am planning to use Meg's gold class shampoo on MEgs detailing day only.

AHA...now these two bottles are very interesting...I am only going to show the logos...seasoned and researched detailers will know what this brand is all about...amongst all my purchases in Dubai...THERE WERE THE JEWELS IN THE CROWN...I was not expecting to see it here...I saw it...I bought it, it was from a one off stock ordered by someone.

I really do not know why these jpegs are appearing inverted...they have been taken from my Macbook...crazy...

Sir my method (which I had deduced from your previous posts...coupled with my own logic and natural style is given below in red...plus a critical question at the end...

Omar bhai, youll need to use your judgement.....just like you learnt to wax.....youll learn to judge how much water left on the car will leave residue after a mf pat down....thought let me give you a good method, spray water on any door glass......pat it with the mf..(at this point make a reading in your memory of how much water you left behind)..now heres the trick, sit in the car an from the inside look at a light source e.g. a bulb,through that exact area....you`ll spot any water spots left.....compare this with your memory picture of the residue you left an make corrections. Hope you got it!
