yes i saw those posts,but that doesn't exactly answer the question, so i posted.

anyway today i did the rooftop. did liquid clay, then swirl removal, then glaze and finally platinum wax. dont have a camera so no shots while doing it but i did take reflection shot from someones camera. (see below)

the turtle swirl remover only took out minor swirls, like about 40-50% with some effort. i applied it with foam pad on small sections at a time in circular motions. before there were countless small ones. after, didn't notice at that time but at night from bulb reflection i see now they are much less in number although these are much more solid. i think these deep ones are left and minor ones removed. in the evening specially in reflection almost none were visible.

the glaze i applied with foam pad and left for about 2 hours of course covered as well to protect from dust. my understanding was that wax would be applied directly on top of it but then i thought better safe than sorry so i buffed it out but it was sticky and hard to take off. well im still sorry, think i messed it up and reinstalled swirls :frown:. would really appreciate comments on application of this particular glaze. i think its results are great but its removal (or not) has me puzzled specially the swirls masking part of this glaze.

anyway, looks perfect from this angle, but has many swirls upfront. i'll try to get some shot of sun reflection for better opinions on remedy.

Ok bhai jan, you applied the swril remover correctly if you managed to remove the swirls or lessen their count out, so pat on the back for that! Now for the glaze, huffffff, bhai jan polymer glaze is a professional product, amatuers will have trouble with it, I learnt how to use it after loads an loads an loads of experimenting.....I can use it in dilution in a spray bottle, I can use it with dilution with the foaming lance an lastly undiluted straight onto the paint surface....if you are going for the direct method, I suggest you just apply wax over it, Kashif bhai has laid the options out for you regarding the kind of finish you desire....natural for depth an synthetic for shine....now for a proper app, undiluted onto the paint surface method...heres what I do, pour 3 or 4 drops onto a foam pad, an swipe it across the surface, with mild pressure...just so you place some oils in the swirls...give a little time for the glaze to settle in, some cars may need hours, some not even 5 secs, this is somthing you will have to judge...the Belair I did absorbed the glaze before I even finished a panel, whereas a 2011 civic took 4 hours to absorb it....so this your call....hope it helps!

thank you and kashif bahi for details. i poured a small amount on pad and lightly massaged and left for about 2 hours. my understanding was also to apply wax on top of it but was not sure about how they would mix so decided to take it off but very little was absorbed and taking it off was hard. i think i induced some swirls back while taking it off

saw lot of detailed car and girls in hong kong:P , Allha nazar-e-bud se bachaye sab ki hee detailing perfect perfect thi mashallha thats reasoon when ever i back from foreign trip muje gher ki murgi really daal lagti hai :(:S:( in my personal view we are muslims so hum ko 70 murgian janat main millen ge per pata nahi mileen ge be ke nahi :S

ok well back to car detailing, this time in hong kong i met with one detailig baba instead of detailing haseena for my shopping and he seems really knowledge able person and he gave me one tip for masking swirls, well i am sure experts here already knew it.

once usman bhai demonstrate me hiding swirls by wax with hand application so hongkong wala baba gee told i should use m/f foam applicator for wax application, yesterday i did one pannel and its really works, though it consume more wax but its really masked many of swirls and minor secratches. i would highly recommend megs cleaner wax with m/f foam applicator , excellent combination for older cars , good thing is m/f foam pad also absorbs our excesive hand presure so safe for paint surface.

if u dont have m/f foam pad than u can use ur standerd foam pad and cover it with m/f cloth and now u are ready to go

As it was Sunday yesterday so did a little work , washed the care and applied turtle synthetic . i was planning to use the glaze again but than left it to be done in the mid or end of April so that i can learn a few more things in between .. some shots for u all ..

Guys Give me Suggestions and mark the flaws in the work and how can i further improve the work

Fikar makawaa , masking & hiding swirls may wax ka bit more lag jana no problem , what I usually do , I keep on masking & than wait for a while & than I keep masking along with the sprays of detailer or water.(this is with hand application)

Its like when marble tiles laganay wala ustad fills the wight cement in the gaps of tiles in the end of the job.

I need some serious expert opinions from Gurus of DC regarding some problems.
First let me indicate the ride in question.
its is corolla gli 2010 having 15460 kms on odo and no I dont live in a rainy flooded area.
First problem:
its not only limited to corolla but I have been searching the prev 2 wks regarding this prob n found out that the brake disc rotors edges are rusty incl my car. it is not that rust which appears after wash n disappears as u drive. its on those areas which are not in use.(I will try to attach a ref pic from other thread) is this some serious problem?
any idea to prevent it?

2nd problem is about rust on exhaust headers in my ride. visited toyota dealership and they showed me dozens of other cars with same thingy and some cars were even unregistered.

Now the question is why? cant they paint it with some heat resistant paint? is it harmful? can the rust travel to other body parts? can the gurus check similar vehicles of their own or in neighborhood and then hit me with expert opinion.

I am replying you according to my experience in parts field,these plates are made with cast iron,some quality conscious manufacturers do dye them but most do not because,there is no problem in keeping it raw
any idea to prevent it?

Have you ever seen painted silencers,except tractors and some galvanized branded exhausts systems in upper level brands,you may opt for them if you are uneasy with local toyotas
Now the question is why? cant they paint it with some heat resistant paint?may be to cut the cost though its not a big game for them is it harmful?galvanizing is better but do not worry if urs is not can the rust travel to other body parts?Rust will not travel from the discs to any other part,relax;) can the gurus check similar vehicles of their own or in neighborhood and then hit me with expert opinion.

Rust will will not travel from the headers because of joint in between them, i am uploading the picture here of the joints which are made with asbestos sheet which is highly heat resistant fibrous silicate material able to be woven into fabrics,used in brake lining and in fire resistant and insulating materials.
This is another story if your exhaust catch rust from more frequent under washes.
And yes,no need to worry for the discs.

sir one last question
it means I should avoid underwash as I am in habit of it that I go for underwash by jacking up the vehicle on stand everytime I drive in mud or rain. Should I keep driving with mud etc being sticked to the underbody?

No way, i am not recommending it rather one should avoid unnecessary frequent under washes.

There were some scratches on my ride since I purchased.
Just tried today to get rid of them. Deep scratches are still there but rest all are gone

you can use scratch removers on your car because these are made for use on cars:) but remember with improper technique you might be able to fill the scratches but eventually would remove excessive layers around the scratch.
Let some senior member in your vicinity do it in front of you first,FAQ is your right,that is why gtgs are essential.
