Hi Everyone!

I need a professional advice from some who may have gone through the subject problem or who knows something about it.

I have recently purchased a car which is dark grey (stone grey metallic) in color which I still need to tranfer in my name. I always wanted a white color car but as i had no other option so i opted for it.

Now I want to change its color from grey to white but I dont know what legal obligations i have to fulfill, if in case it is possible.

I made an inquiry in lahore excise office through an agent (as the car is origianally regeistered in lahore) for the color change procedure but he strongly disagreed with it by saying it is not possible.

Can someone suggest and guide in the right way.

It is possible. All you need to do is fill a form.

What kind of form? can u give me its detail.
and whether this kind of form also available at Lahore Excise office.

no need to fill any form bro.....just transfer it to ur name and change color whatever u want......don't bother for legal procedures....enjoy ur ride and keep smiling

Thats what I will do if I don't find any proper procedure for it.
However I am waiting for some expert opinion, may be someone has a right answer for it.

in khi, it is not allowed legally, on 1st page of book it is written same old colour but on endoresement page, this will be added by fees
similarly for those who change engine , should endorse that in documents new engine number

that is legal way( i m talking of experience on old book owners, dont know procedure of new book as not done on new book any endorsement )

Well Thanks "Brownrose78" . Regarding your reply, I add, that this is what I have perceived so far while discussing this problem with different people.

In nutshell their is no option available for color or engine change in the Registration Book. Any kind of change made should be intimated and must be endorsed by the ETO of the respective region

In addition to the Registration Book, Excise office Lhr also maintains their record in a database available at Official Website of Motor Transport Management Information System.
If I change the color of my car (may be its engine too later on) and endorse it from the ETO Lhr, then will it also be updated in all documents including their database available on their web site?

I have gone through the same process because i bought a civic which was painted white from black due to some policy that the company had which owned the car. when i bought it it said black on the registration book, however i took it to the ETO office to get it transferred in my name and then also told them to change the color. where it says color = black they cross it out and write white next to it and then the eto puts a stamp right on top of it. its simple and no forms needed to be filled or anything, that is the legal way and no harm in doing it either

oh and i forgot to mention that yes they will update their records and all aswell. so no need to worry about that either

but I m still a bit confused, should I first change the color of my car and then approach the ETO (for both transfering and color change intimation) or should I fisrt update the documents and then change the color of my car........?

Well if i was you i would get the color changed and then go to the ETO office because that ways you can get it transferred to your name and get the color change thing mentioned in the registration book in one go. Otherwise you will have to get it transferred to ur name then get the color change and then go back, and to be honest you would only want to go to the ETO office once in ur entire life cause its just a hassle to be honest. So get the color changed first.

officially in khi, acc. to law before changing color u must contact respective authority & pay endorsement fees via bank challan,once it is done, then u should go for color change,
i heard there is some form too to fill, check lhr office

If I were you, I would simple exchange my car with the one I like rather than repainting it only to devalue the vehicle. You would spend minimum 100k for a decent paint job, that too with lots of regrets. use 100k to buy a car that is originally while
