Car dashboard mat dilemma

Assalam o alaikum, hope everyone's doing great. So I bought a dashboard carpet for my city sx8. It looked pretty cool to me but ive been hearing mixed opinions about it. Some say k AC will perform better since it will absorb most of the heat rather than the plastic dashboard, some say that its black to it will heat up the car even more (keep in mind car's dashboard comes dark grey from factory, it already gets super hot on its own) to scene kia hai? Wont the black fabric carpet be less hotter than the grey plastic dashboard? Lagaoo ya phenk du?

such mat cover cause dashboard fractures ,

am victim of that., in 20 years the dashboard of my daily mule was not having any hairline or a dot of fracture. a friend under good faith gave me such mat cover, i accepted with thank you. This summer at interior cleaning i got a jolt close to heart attack whole of the dash board is fractured from numerous spots., not visible but can be felt when cleaning

it is better to use flexible sunshades when parking the vehicle., to protect from sun.

I am very surprised, now I won't place it on my dashboard. How could it be the cause of dashboard fracturing bro? Because I also bought it for the corolla and civic we have at home and already placed it on their dashboards, boht paise zaya hogae phir to.

when vehicle is under sun parked.

hot air is trapped in the aircon ducts. when we activate the aircon ducts get cold but the dashboard padding remain warm, when the mat covers are over the dashboard pad the heat remains trapped (heat remain infused) causing fractures.

check the definiation of induction and infusion - infused heat caused dashboard fractures.

That makes sense, however won't the black cloth carpet absorb less heat than the dark plastic dashboard? I am regretting this stupid decision as I was convinced into buying one because of its "benefits" and because I wanted to protect the dash of my other cars as they are parked in heat for hours daily.

why not do an experiment

place a plastic glass under sun and a blanket side by side for 15 minutes
-
15 minutes later put them under common shade , wait for 10 minutes and feel which one is colder

i rest my case.

yes it happened in past 1 year only after mat was placed.

since ownership of vehicle the dashboard pad was spot less and day time parking location is the same. .

Not only the carpet but anything you place on the dashboard will make it crack. I have seen dashboards cracked under the air freshners placed on the surface.

It is just a myth that ac will cool more with a carpet cover. The ac ducts are not in contact with the top plastic of dashboard.

I really feel bad for this. Have you checked how much replacement will cost?

cost of replacement is not an issue,

issue is to accept the gesture and get hurt for no reason

It is definitely a very disappointing and heart breaking situation to see the ride in such a condition. I just wanted to have an idea that's why i asked if you had checked for cost of dashboard replacement.

it is for 42000 from Peshawer Shoba bazar and will arrive by Sunday complete with cluster & glovebox untouched from a write-off car
will stash it in store, to be replaced when vehicle goto workshop for remake

I sat in a careem which has this hideous thing in it, i wondered who in their right mind would do such a thing...

It looked super ugly and the smell of the matt was horrible as well.
