I got my Alto VXR 2006 engine rebuild 3–4 months ago, now after driving 2,500 kms I see the engine oil light flickering. The oil level is not low, it’s at the right level and it’s not that dirty too. What is causing this?
Seems like your cars oil pump is weak. Its better to replace oil & oil filter first.
I have the same issue. Once I increase the acceleration the light goes off but when I release the accelerator it turns on/flickers.
You car's oil pump is weak, its not producing good pressure at idle, so the light came on.
Same thing with me. At idle it flickers then when I accelerate, it goes off. Now I don't see it anymore. Should I replace it? How much does it cost?
Its better to consult about the oil pump with your mechanic. Bcz I think oil pump is placed inside the engine & cannot be replaced externally.Mostly mechanics replace oil pump during engine overhaul.
I recently did an engine overhaul 2-3 months ago. I changed the oil, air filter, oil filter then tuning from the same mechanic. He said probably something went inside the engine oil on/off wire. After the tuning. I don't see the light now. Will start it again on cold start and post you the update.
Okay, so I changed the oil (Zic x7 10w-40) then did some tuning. After that the car is running smooth now. No lights even at cold starts. Perhaps an oil change and tuning was all it needed.
