Hi everyone,
I own a 2002 Suzuki Cultus (carby). Recently, due to heavy rains and water on the roads (sometimes up to the doors), my car has developed several issues. I’m listing them below in detail:
Hub Bearing Noise : Loud humming/roaring sound while driving.
Brakes Squeaking : Very squeaky, especially on light braking.
Belts Whining/Buzzing : Whining or buzzing sound from the belts, especially on startup or during acceleration.
Engine Idle / Stalling Issue : Car runs fine overall, but when in neutral/low RPM it starts wobbling and then stalls. Needs restart and runs again, but the problem repeats.
AC Issue : AC cooling is weak, and the compressor makes noise.
I’m confused whether I should go for an original Cultus compressor, or use a reliable aftermarket option (like from Duet or Honda Life).
Looking for suggestions on which option is better in terms of performance, availability, and long-term reliability.
Request :
Could forum members guide me on the expected repair/maintenance cost for these issues?
Which compressor option should I choose (original vs Duet/Honda Life aftermarket)?
Any recommendations for trusted mechanics in Rawalpindi/Islamabad who are good with Cultus and carbureted engines ?
