So this has happened to me twice on 1NZ engine with 150k kilometers on it. Both the times, the Car was parked and not started for about 2 days. One was beginning of winter and the other was just a week or so ago so count that as middle of winter.
- Battery is not the issue as I have experienced the same car's crank on a weak or dead battery. It simply won't try to start and the starting motor will make TKTKTK noise without doing anything to the engine.
- Engine is doing okay too, not consuming any Oil until now.
I don't know how to explain it. When cranking, the starting motor or battery does not feel weak at all. It keeps trying to start the engine but engine won't budge. Almost feels like there's no fuel going to the engine or out of breath, not sure how to explain it really.
What can possibly be causing this? If I keep cranking with a little break for 5-10 minutes, eventually the engine does start with full throttle applied. Once it starts, no issues ever again until parked again for two days. I am starting to fear it will just give up on me at any instance so need to figure the issue out.
Anyone else faced a similar problem? Someone told me it could be the fuel filter - which was already changed near 30k mark, it wasn't needed even back then I bet but it was changed nonetheless. I have one ready to replace now too but why does the problem occur only when parked for two days and never again during normal use???
