Hi everyone, I'm getting a fair deal for a Cultus 2013 Euro II model. This is my first car so I'm not very sure about checking car condition. Did take a mechanic with me who said it was non-accidented. Can anyone tell me if these parts in the car are okay since they have rust on them. Will it causes problems in the future?

Also what would be the cost for cultus AC assembly since the AC doesn't work in this car. Looking forward to any feedback I can get. :)

In the short term nothing to worry about. But rust has a habit of spreading and it is better to stop it from getting any worse. I have used a product called "rust converter" for many years with excellent results. It is a chemical that is applied straight on rust (do not clean the rust before applying). It goes on white and over the next few hours the chemical goes black indicating that it has done it work.

If memory serves, rust is Iron oxide. This chemical converts iron oxide to iron phosphate or some such product.

Before throwing out the a/c, see if it just needs a recharge. And if it needs a recharge then there is a leak somewhere which needs to be fixed before recharge.

Yes I did read about rust convertor somewhere but I wanted to be sure if the rust on the joints is acceptable before purchase.

I've heard the AC in cultus is very weak so I was thinking I should get it replaced since the stock doesn't work anyway. I'm getting 2013 model for Rs. 1.15m. Is the price okay?

Efi models genuine Ac is not that bad it's the dashboard quality which is bad if parked in direct sunlight for sometime then ac will really struggle to cool the car

What about the AC of 2008 model? I checkout out a 2014 model and air throw was very good in it.

I got my serviced and a new (used/kabuli) compressor for 36k last week. I think the evaporator should cost around 12k (aluminium) and 10 to 15k for condenser. Pipes are generally cheaper and that's the entire AC system. Drier/filter should cost around 2k but it's mostly included in service charges.

No, it's was 16k, 36k for the whole job.

Oh okay. So the entire air conditioning will cost me around 65k: compressor, evaporator, condenser etc.

Yes it is fine on joints. And the good thing is that on top of the rust converter you can proceed with car paint.

I cannot comment on the efficiency of the Cultus a/c as I have never experienced it. Also cant say if 1.15m is a good or bad price. Again, no experience.
