Car or motorbike for university?

Salam guys. Tired of my daily commute in a HiAce, I was thinking of getting a car or a motorbike for myself. My university is 40km away from my home and that is a total of 80km trip altogether. Hostel is not an option. I'll be taking my car/bike only 3 days of the week. Should I go for a car or a bike? Motorbike seems a dangerous and a risky option ( or is it not if I ride carefully? ). No matter how safe one drives, accidents tend to happen. So, should I go for a car or a bike.

What should I get? I'm looking for something light on my pocket. Budget is around 7ish. Location Islamabad. Thanks in advanceee

As per ur budget, efi mehran would suit you, cost wise aswell as fuel avg wise.

Coure or alto are quite old models, he is a student, wasting his time in workshops isnt feasible.

As you're a student, so I suggest you buy Suzuki Mehran in your budget, the first benefit will be that you'll get a newer model, and secondly, it will also be easy on your pocket maintenance-wise as well as spare parts availability and pricing.
Bike, however, for a trip of around 80 kms is not a good decision if you're already fed-up with the experience of Hiace and using the bike as a daily commute will be a more tiresome experience for you altogether.

The rest is your personal choice.

Go for a car cheap maintenance car like a mehran which will be much safer then a bike and if you can afford cars are always the better option in my opinion

But what about their mileage figures? I've heard that they can be heavy on fuel?

Was thinking the same too. But what about about other options like a Mini Pajero or Baleno etc ? Is it possible to find a clean Cultus under 7 lacs? Could you tell me the expected fuel consumption I'd be getting? TIA

The car market is quite weird these days. Car prices are unimaginably high. Is it possible to get a euro II under 7?

Best option is switch to a university operated transport system if available.
Car will have a much higher cost. You will need around 5litre on daily basis . Estimate that into a monthly cost and you can better dicide if you want to go for that. Also monthly maintenance of car is an addition.
Best is buy a comfortable bike (YBR, pridor or if you can spend higher go for benneli). Much more cost effective. And comfortable bikes will not cause a much of problem for u.

Yes you can get old cultus and baleno in this budget.
It returns 14-15 km/l but depends upon driving style.
