Car Sale deed possesion!

I recently sold my toyota. I got a notarized sale deed made. The buyer kept the original document and gave me a copy. My father is saying that we should keep the original document and give the buyer a copy. The car is currently on my fathers name the other person has applied for transfer. Now the confusion is who keeps the original sale deed when selling a car.

Normally a sale deed issued by seller is supposed to be in possession of buyer that he has a formal receipt of purchasing
But for a seller in the present law and order scenario is also important to have a valid document of selling and handing over the possession of the car registered in his name to a third person
So its better for you to take a delivery letter on a stamp paper issued in name of buyer and keep it in you custody

should I get the original document back from the buyer? I currently have a copy of the document. and the notary office is next to my house it has its records maintained. Or is the copy enough.

If you are the seller then you only need to have proof of delivery. A letter that states that you have delivered car with registration no, engine no , chassis no to — buyer name on the day , date and time and recieved payment of sum — by cash or payorder no . It is preffered to be on stamp paper with signature of buyer on it .
The sale deed goes with buyer because its proof that he has bought the car from you and without orginal sale deed car cant be transferred in sindh

No let him keep that letter. If you dont have any proof of delivery then get a stamp paper write details on it and get it signed by buyer and keep it with you.

I only have a copy of the stamp paper/sale deed on that everything is mentioned that Ive handed over the car date and details. Should I make another stamp paper?

Who purchased that stamp paper, I mean you took it by providing your id card from office or Buyer purchased it on his NIC?

As per law, seller should himself issue stamp paper and then handed over to buyer.

I think no need to make another stamp paper, to be more secure you can take buyer's Thumb impression and signature on Photocopy otherwise. Thanks
