Car skids

Car Honda City 2007 idsi
Recently when I had to apply sudden brakes on GT road I observed that car skid and drifted on side while coming to a complete halt
Is this a known issue with this model of city or is it due to tires or front disk pads?

My car’s are 70 % health-wise. Plus the only change that I made a year back was front disk pads of Nissin ( in place of oem disk pads) could that be a reason? Although I have not driven much ever since I installed those disk pads

Lastly, I would really appreciate if someone guide or redirect on how do we judge that now its time to change the tires

Common issue with this model. If possible select lower gear before braking, to avoid a skid

tyres that are old become hard as well as lose tread so both of these reduce their grip. If you tyres are like 4 years old or tread is too low than change it
