Car stopped on hill

Dear members. I purchased toyota vitz 2007 1000cc. Its perfectly good on motorway. I am geeting 120/130 speed and very good mileage

But today I went daman e koh islamabad. Its was ok upto dam e koh hill climb on D gear. But when I try to climb on peer sohawa ( immegiately after daman e koh). There is a sharp curve and steep hill. On that my vitz can not go upward. I pressed throlte full. But prob remain same. Then i reversed and came back
-we were 4 adult passengers
- car was 30% on hi octane

Somebody told me abt S gear. I forgot to apply there but I tried in islamabad. It gives same
But I did not tried B
Please suggest me abt problem

On that sharp turn which you have mentioned mostly drivers break there motion as its towards left almost a wide U turn with a steep all you had to do was to maintain a reasonable speed.
Rest if you have stopped there and start you journey from even B, the result would be the same.

There's nothing wrong with your car.

My vitz also dont work on up hills

when was the last time auto Transmission fluid & filter changed ? That steep upward curve is bit tricky but vehicle refusal [as in stalling] to move is only possible when transmission filter is full of GUNK and fluid fail to develop enough pressure in clutch-packs to shift lower and provide torque to wheels

I own a manual City 2012 and on the way to Pir Sohawa there was another patch where repair work was being done. Had to stop car and start up a steep incline and my car did it but with the front tyres breaking grip (EuroStars). For a moment I too thought it would not make it. But a 1.0l Vitz with auto and fully loaded might have trouble. I think nothing wrong with your car but you may do as capsat has suggested.

Its not about car always its the driver mostly, i have seen mehran and fx going there. But here it seems like car is at fault as described by poster. When first time i went on that road on a corolla 2005 1.3 AC was on and car was on petrol 3 people in car, I wasn't able to take it till top as the car started to spin front wheels but on the same car when i went with my driver he easily took it.

On hills you build and keep the momentum. My Platz with 5 adults sitting goes easily to Peer Sohawa and it is a 12 year old 1000 CC car; underpowered for its size.

I bought a 2007 Santro club last year. I used to go Monal once in a month, 4 adults on board, Ac on. Never stop on any corner. I also took her to Hiland Country Club, this was little hard for her 1L engine but don't disappoint me at all. Then you would say that vitz is baad on uphill. It's all about driving not a car. And i think vitz is better than Santo in terms of technology.

Solved. It was blockage of CAT convertor. Sorry for very late reply, because When I am coming back in country then I am using car

Whenever going uphill or downhill, drive your automatic car in B (often referred to as braking, which keeps your engine at max in second gear). S is often called sports, similar to D, which is used when you need instant acceleration where generally car maintains higher RPM before shifting to another gear.

I've been to Monal with my 1.0l vitz 2007, without any issue, and kept the car in B on steep slopes. There's a general misconception here that CAT is blocked and should be cleaned. For its self cleaning, you can drive the car to 100-120 kmph in S mode; otherwise CATs are designed to work normal for 80-100k KMs, or even more

I normally visit monal in my vitz 1.3 w 4 to 5 passengers ,I use b gear in uphill ,no issues at all
I doubt anyone can reach monal in d gear in 1.0 vitz ,no idea but you were using wrong gear

1.3 to cheeti he, i own it and it goes like rocket, i had 4/4 and shaft removed...it put it in d3 or d2 and it just pushes like a rocket....

i agree vitz 1300cc is a powerful car you are using wrong gear .i have vitz converted 1.0 to 1.3 recently in june2017 i road trip on my 1.3 vitz from karachi to naran/Babusur top.no issue on hills on babusur top.

3 years back i had cultus 2005 with very weak engine and i went to monal with 4 people. I never felt that the car is not gonna climb so it mostly depends on the driver.
And my brother was struggling to drive the same car on the way to nathia gali

Dear all,
I have Vitz 2006/2009. Suddenly the gear stop working to switch gear from parking to D with pressing Break. Than I have checked transmission oil and refilled it but after that gear is not switching with break. While switch with shift lock.

What is reason?
