Car Suggestion Needed- 11th Gen Corolla Xli or Gli (for driver & home use)

Hello everyone

I am planning to buy a car for family use and it will be mostly driven by our DRIVER.
I have my mind on the 11th gen Corolla Gli or Xli.

Although Honda City is a better buy but I already had a 2009 Honda City which I sold in 2013 so family doesn't want the same car.

I need your expert opinions and suggestions about going for 11th gen Xli or Gli.

Here are some things I need some help with:
-Difference between price of both car is about PKR 124K (1625K vs 1749K). Negative for Gli

-The most significant difference that matters is that Gli has 'ABS with EBD' (although getting genuine Power Windows, central locking and back armrest are a welcomed thing; aftermarket items fail after a few months). Positive for Gli

• Will be buying the 'White' colour option, so Gli doesn't score any points for having more colours available. Negative for Gli

Do you think that the increase in price is justified for the Gli or should I simply go for the Xli?
I would appreciate an honest and quick reply since I want to book it as soon as possible (because of the delivery time).

After getting some very valid suggestion from all of my pakwheel brothers, I have updated the main post with the following:

I am now also considering JDMs in the same budget (1300K to 1600k).
After browsing Pakwheels used car ads, I think Corolla Axio (or any car with a trunk in good condition), 10th gen Corolla (Gli's /even 2010 Altis) would be a better purchase. Can some suggest (that JDM or used PKDM) is the better option?

owned the 2005 Xli and brakes were very poor (will 11th gen Xli have the same brakes?)

For a small difference you are getting a bigger engine and extra features, weather drive drives it or not. If you really concerned and drivers driving standards get a new driver or go for mehran

engine is same for both xli and gli in 11th gen. but there's not substitute for abs+abd for which i'm willing to accept a 70-80k price difference if toyota can offer it in xli.

Yes, both cars (that i am considering) Xli and Gli are M/T.

You are missing the point brother.
Power windows, locking can all be added for a nominal cost (but ABS is something that stands out in Gli), My question is that is the 124K difference worth it?

I know the brakes of corolla (in general) are not the best. [Have experience of owning a 2005 Xli and 2003 SE saloon].
The question here is that are the brakes of Xli that bad (or not safe) that no one suggest this model? (Although it is selling like Indus people are giving it for free)

Sir, engine is same... everything is same.
Only major difference is ABS but with at a cost of 124K.

Bro, if you need car for only city drive, go for XLI but if you want for long/highway route go for GLI.

Gli all the way. i have 10th gen 2012 Gli and had same dilemma when iwas to buy car in 2012. Gli is for family and its features outweighs Xli. Also i have seen that somehow overall quality in Gli is better than Xli. once you buy new car, you dont want to open it to install missing things

Yes, the car will only be driven in city, for Highways we have an 8th gen civic.

the brake quality is very good specially if we compare it with 9th gen corolla. I have not been disappointed by it as yet. Then you can buy XLI as, ABS are rarely used in city.

I personally haven't driven the 11th gen Xli .. but i once owned a 2004 xli .. had an accident on GT road .. my first .. that car just skidded on the road couldn't stop couldn't steer...
after that I haven't looked at Xli ever since.. 2 Gli in a row..
The safety of my family is more important to me than 1 lac ..

Well I have a question for experts! Isn't it possible to install After market Abs in xli? I have consulted some peoples and they said it can be installed in just 30k to 40k. And after market power windows costs around 15k. So if its possible one can save upto 60k while buying a xli. And regarding the issue of opening door panels, every gli owner gets a after market keyless entry so door panels are to be opened even in gli.

I don't think that it is possible to install aftermarket ABS in non ABS car, even if it is, it's totally insane and waste of time+money+reliability. Because what is company fitted can never be compared to aftermarket thing.
Secondly door panels don't need to be opened in Gli because Gli has lock opening/closing motors pre-installed, eg, when you open driver side lock with key, all four locks are opened and vice versa.
Don't forget that multimedia system of Gli is also much better than Xli.. Instead of upgrading everything on Xli, one should buy Gli if budget allows because tax, registration and token everything is same.

I agree with you on not tampering with the brakes. It's a different thing replacing the multimedia systems but messing with brakes somethings better left undone.
