Car Sulf problem is killing me ..please help

Hello everyone I bought mehran 2004 6 months back. From the last two months I am having very serious problem in starting car (Sulf takes Too much Load, more like a dead sulf).Went to mechanic told me , he has to open sulf...anyhow He replaced the one of the sulf part and tuned the bush ,once he done with all this...sulf get back life....the car even start on half half ...i was happy...after One week I had same problem went to same mechanic he said the wire use to connect Sulf with battery get heatsup so this need to be replaced , once he done the sulf start working fine....Third time I had same problem this time i really got annoyed so i decided to replace the whole sulf ...After i replaced the sulf the car start absolutely fine...At that time I have realized the problem is solved completely as i had identify the root cause....I was wrong indeed today i am having same problem. Let me tell one important during my encounters with electrician i was keep insisting is my car battery fine...he has checked it twice and told me all the cell are fine moreover battery gives good sparks too..... I am having Osaka Battery....please guy help me to figure out this matter ...this whole process is very painful for me its like banging my head against wall

well dude, i don't really think ur SULF has got a problem. Check ur car by putting in a new battery. The problem will go away. New SULFS don't die that often.

A year back, a mechanic in pindi was very keen on the replacement of my city's self start system, cz according to him, the self had died. The car did a 'chick' but did not start. The new system was gonna cost me above 10k.

therefore, I just gave it a shot with a new battery. I started it up like 19 times precisely and the SULF started up fine.

U better not go to that mechanic again bro.

if it happens when you try to start the car after a long break (in the morning probably), then there is a current leak in car which drains your battery.
It is very easy to diagnose current leak through any roadside electrician...
if current is leaking then you have to solve that problem first...

your sulf or battery is fine...

Although I am not an expert and I will not suggest anything, however I will quote my experience after having faced a similar problem in my Khyber.

The self was not picking up, it used to Jam and produce a metal grinding sound and on 2-3 tries it fired up and started the car. I took it to the mechanic he said its not a wiring / battery and self issue. He tuned the car, cleaned the plug and the distributor cap and then opened the head and adust the tepid and rocker (1 rocker was jam and he fixed it) post that the grinding and jaming of self was gone and it started normally on petrol

(please note that this problem was on petrol only and the car started on CNG much better than petrol)

Only thing which goes wrong in a SULF is worn down brushes and can go wrong after 5-6 years. Normally loose connections or bad batteries are the issues. See, there is a way to check the batteries but not by getting a small spark out from it as local technicians does. Load testing on a battery may be impossible for you since you may not be having the right equipment but I advise you to go to the battery shop and ask him to perform a load testing. In first 10 seconds, if Voltage drops below 9 Volts then it’s a bad battery. If it does not fall, then it’s a good battery. Now you need to place a Voltmeter on Battery and ask your friend to start the car and observer if voltage below 9 Volts then you may have bad sulf and if it does not falls even below 11 Volts then you may have bad connections and if it falls below 9 Volts then you may have bad battery.
Most of the batteries fails on load testing as owners usually brings the car in once battery is already creating problems. Technicians try to perform load testing on discharged battery and try to force you into buying new batteries. So fully charge the battery before taking it for load testing.
You also need to verify if Alternator is charging the system or not. It may happen that Alternator is not charging the battery and its so weak that it refuses to start the Vehicle.
Once car is in start position, then turn on all the lights, vipers, music system and defogger. Place a Voltmeter on battery terminals and see if the Voltage is above 13 Volts or not. If its not then alternator is not doing its job properly and turn off one equipment at a time and see the difference in Voltage. Alternator is designed keeping in mind that it will still be charging the vehicle (at idle RPM) with all the stock electric equipment on.

Also happened with me in Baleno. So I improved the grounding wire with a much thicker wire which solved the problem. Check your grounding wire at gearbox for corrosion and ensure your battery terminals are fully tight not even slightly loose.

a motor which cranks an engine is called starter motor. after invention of starter motor the sales people termed the feature ' self start ' sold at premium price just like nowadays cars with parking sensors. before starter motors an iron rod S shaped with one extended length was used to manually crank the car engines.

the other member has correctly pointed out most likely before service of starter motor check for the grounding connections of the battery.

check threads in electrical section for battery ground to body & engine.

Yes but not straight as it will mark the walls and break down quickly you do need to buffer it (doing this will make it last approx 10 times longer) and adjust its pH to 6.5 and still use small amounts of bromide or Chlorine from time to time. as there are some bacteria that it doesn't control [LEFT]

I HAVE BOUGHT MEHRAN 2004 LAST MONTH , I M NEW TO DRIVE CAR, EVERY MORNING WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR, IT TAKES LIKE A DEAD SULF TWICE OR TRICE ,THEN IT DOESNT TAKE SULF ,WHILE PUTTING SULF FAN AND EVERYTHING GETS OFF, WHEN I LEAVE THE SULF , FAN STARTS again ..can anyone tell me the problem.. plz
