Today got token paid today at lhr gpo, gli 2012 token for filer is 2000 less than non filer. All u need to prove for filer proof, is last year's incom tax return copy and copy of NTN certificate.1st verify it at one counter and then pay at next.cheers

That means 5820 for non-filers. I think these are the same as last year.

Token can be paid for the whole month of july.its not any connection to transfer of car.token pay krein,transfer ek sepetate issue hai

Token can be paid with or without transfer. But if you are a filer then you should transfer it first and then pay to save on token

ETO issues transfer letter for those cars only, whose tokens are updated.

A colleague has not paid any tokens since 2009 and yet got his car transfered to his name. It was a bank leased car, he paid full instalments but never cared about tokens

In punjab first thing they check r tokens.if updated then u may proceed for transfer

Paid token tax yesterday at ETO office Islamabad. Token amount was 2850. Car is 2011 Honda City 1.3L. However the person on counter took Rs. 3000 and didn't returned the remaining amount. It was really tough paying at ETO office. Around 1000 persons were there to pay the token. Fans were also not working. The online system was also not working. There were 3 counters to pay the token. I was at 12# in my queue but it took more than 2.5 hours to pay the token.
Mujhay tu abhi se paraishani ho rahi hai k next year phir se ETO office ja k token pay karna ho ga.

Looking at the stamp, it seems all the tasks were completed at one counter. Once I visited ETO in 2013 when it was located at F-8 Islamabad, I had to wait in several queues to get it done. One counter for signing bank challans by ETO inspector, one for token payment, one for Income tax payment, and then one for stamping of registration book.
By the way who make bank challans now? ETO staff or the ones sitting here and there to grab money?

I dont have a copy of NTN certificate, however i do file the return and can get the return copy from FBR website. How are they verifying? They should have an excel file with name and NTNs of all return filers which everyone use from auto dealers to banks. And that list is available on the FBR website.

Yes, it was one window operation. Although i took the copy of my last year return with me but they didn't checked it. I think they have access to the FBR database.
Last year they charged me Rs. 3348/- whereas this year they charged Rs. 500/- less. It means that the token has decreased this year at-least for the tax filers.

I am guessing from the posts that Islamabad registered car's token tax is way less than the ones registered in Punjab. Last year I paid 18,200/- for my civic VTI 2006 non filler. Is it the same this year or is it decreased?

I guess my next target should be to buy an Islamabad registered vehicle.

Sir, why not pay at the Post Office ?

This week, I had some time, and paid for my relatives car. (Islamabad Registered)
F-8 Markaz Post office.
Arrive at 8:45 am (Post office opened at 9 am). about 20 people ahead of me, done in 45 mins approx.

Time Saving TIP: Post Office works 9am to 3 pm for Token Tax (Ramadan timing).
After 2 pm, queue almost NIL, Token can be done in 10 mins.

By the way on 01 July the ETO office was closed for public. This could help explain extra load on 02 July.
