Car Wash / Protecting Paint

Today a painter/denter told me that never use detergent to wash your car, use mitti ka tail with water to just wipe over the paint thats it, that will keep the paint from fading out and will clean the dust.

He said never get you car polished, it ruins the paint.

Dear never ever use kerosene oil on car paint, it will give you shine initially but gradually destroy the pain as it will chemically react with it. Use mild car shampoos instead and remember not to leave shampoo too long on the body and wash it immediately. Then used a good wax and your car pain would last longer.

Also you can use Teflon paint sealants to protect your car's paint.

Actually my car is repainted and after paint job it was NOT given a plastic coating as the painter was telling me. New cars get plastic coated after paint. I dont know what to do? use detergent, shampoo or kerosine oil?

And what about new cars, how you guys keep them shining and protected??

@S55 is it the Clear coat that you are talking about.

There are other protectants out there as Plastic sheets which make your paint scratchless. well sort of. but am not sure if its available in pakistan.

MItti ka tail might be needed for cleaning your hands once you are done with the polishing

Well that's the best thing I could get in Pakistan and it's still going strong after nearly three years. I have never have to polish my car and with plain water it would shine like glossy. The paint has also braved summer heat and winter frost.

Shampoo to wash car is special or the normal shampoo that we use?

The local Neutro shampoo is good, it comes in small plastic bottle about 15 to 20 rs and a larger bottle of 70 80 (not sure about exact price).

Also you can find imported car shampoos at good departmental stores. Better avoid normal hair shampoo or the ones packed in sachets and available with service station workers.

go to any GOOD painter and ask him to spray your car with hardner !
