Car Windscreen Crack-HELP!

It all started with one small crack coming down from the top of the windscreen to which i did not pay much heed..but alas! with time the crack appeared to grow in size and with the passage of time it turned into an 8 inch eye sore..incase ur wondering how did the crack appear well i think its got something to do with heat and the glass expanded because trust me, the car has been constantly in my use and under my observation and this appeared out of no where...and its not even like a scratch that has been made with a sharp object which can be felt but its more like this crack is embedded into the glass
Well, i thought that was the end of it when the crack was 8 inch long...i kinda had gotten used to it and learned to live with it as it had stopped growing for some weeks...but boyy was i wrong...one fine morning i wake up and to my surprise..the same crack which was around 8 inch long at night when i parked my car had turned into this.....Feast ur eyes on this:

The question is "What the hell do i do about this??" i cant possibly drive my car with this snake like pattern now coming right infront of the driver's view aswell!! Is there any CHEAP alternative solution besides getting my windscreen changed.. or IF getting the windscreen changed in the ONLY solution left..how much would a City's windscreen cost?

Im afraid the only recommended solution is a windshield change.

Are you the first owner of this car??? Is the windshield genuine???? You can ask from Honda dealerships what kind of windshields they fit originally, tempered, laminated.....

I must mention here with utter disgust that a large number of Karachi workshops are busy in 'rebuilding' total loss cars purchased from insurance companies. These are then sold to unsuspecting customers as 'genuine' cars.

If I had my way, each and every vehicle involved in a major crash must be scrapped to fill the bottomless bellies of scrappers. Perhaps then they would save the classic wheels some torture.

Oh btw,

Do go for a genuine windshield once you are ready for a change. Dont bother to fit a cheap Chinese, Pakistani or whatever crap item.

why are u driving the car with a cracked windscreen?
get it replaced ASAP..
there are many varieties in the market.. dont know the latest price but it was for 2600 rs 5,6 months back

Get it replaced. Call your nearest honda dealer for a quote. Dont settle for cheap/non genuine screens, you'll suffer from extra glare and other issues...best of luck and dont waste any more time getting this problem fixed

Their is aguy in Pindi Whofixes the Screens in a wya that no one can judge if its repaired and their is absolutely no issue. Youshould find out if their is some one who can repair it if in case you dont want to pay for a new screen

dear! almost all readers have given u their valuable suggestions. the best soultion is to get it replaced at your earliest and only from honda 3S dealers not from any other market.
i'm not aware of any such technique where a cracked windshield can be repaired but it can be stopped from further cracks. had u done it earlier, it would have stopped at that point. some people drill it on the end point of crack and fill silicon which prevents it from growing further. but it's better to replace it.

Man change is the most good solution. this can break any time on motorways or any other place & may hurt your loved ones. Money is nothing when it comes to loves ones. so make precautions.

bro ...i had the same issue and trust me there is no way out except changing the windscreen and that too from a honda 3S don't go for any other place and don't compromise on the price coz u need a good quality screen...and the condition of the screen suggests that you should get it changed ASAP ....i got a quote of around 11-12K ( i dont remember correctly) for it for my civic including the labour and rubber mouldings etc and screen ...this wuz 2 months back though

always keep ur windows slightly open (only that the air can pass through).. keeping windows completely closed specially in heated conditions normally results in cracked windscreens. hope u take care in future

Aww man thats a shame! UsmanAnsari is right about keeping the windows slightly open. Now that its cracked, get it replaced. Get it done properly from an authorized 3S.

dude your car need lasor treatment. I know i shop near stadium road rwl, shan windscreen. they remove that cracks with lasor.

its shan windscreen, double road, near stadium, rawalpindi. get lasor treatment its cheaper then new one.
