Cars with Other city Registration

Hello everyone,

I was wondering that being a Pakistani if I am intending to buy a car, I should buy a car from any city registration number in Pakistan, but on occasion I NEVER ever wanted (and also advised others) to buy a car out of my residential city registration number plate. That is, If I am from Karachi, I will not buy a car with Quetta registration plate.

Can any of you put a light on this whether my act is OK or I am just following some Taboo.

OR what can be the advantages or disadvantages of buying out of city cars?

Dealers have created this for their sake....

So no one risks his investment as he has to sell the car in the same market

2. Police usually is suspicious of cars that are registered else where.
3. People will prefer buying those cars that are registered in their city.

Car dealers are not to be blamed! The below mentioned reasons are which deter one from buying cars registered from other cities:

In Islamabad, people are willing to buy vehicles that are registered from Lahore at the very most. Even Rawalpindi cars are often disliked. Token tax issues can be adjusted like taxes of Punjab cities can be paid in Rawalpindi by residents of Islamabad but still.....Here, NWFP and Karachi vehicles have little value. Most think they are smuggled/stolen/non custom paid. The recent revelations of Mohammad Hassan has further deterred buyers.

I've a car with multan no. having Life time token tax paid and i've been driving it since 3 years in Islamabad. Never have a police officer bothered me let alone even asked for registration. And yet I can't sell it for good price in Islamabad cuz people don't like Multan number, It doesn't make any sense at all.
