Catalytic converter issue

AOA fellow members,
I have a 2014 model honda civic which has only done 45k millage, and the issue that i am facing is that the catalyic converter is chocked resulting in low millage and it has also effected the pick of the car.
i want you all to suggest what should I do since the Honda Showroom people are demanding for 130k for the replacement.
I live in Lahore.

Try Scrolling through this forum. There are people who have got their catalytic convertor cleaned for less than 3000. You are in lahore. You can locate such a place easily where they could clean it. I mean if replacement is the ultimate solution, trying to get it cleaned first could save some big bucks.

Catalytic Converter Cleaning Process

Hi All well I had been seeing many of the respected member's talking about faulty Cat converter or Chocked CAT converter and many of them break it clear because they don't know what is the solution for this fault. Bro.. I have triess it myself. but sbdy told me a mechanic.. just open the exhaust.. fill the draining pipe with vinegar... let it be there for about two hours.. then start the car. and let the vinegar be drained through silencer.. and thats it.. iit will be cleaned.. but there are a lot of mechanis eho will remove it. dont do that

how the CAT got choked at this less mileage i.e only 45k kilometers. I have civic 2013 with 90k kilometers on odo and reborn 2006 with 200,000 + kilometers, still no problems.
Khair get it washed. And there is not rocket science in cleaning a clogged CAT. Removing the whole exhaust system will be much easy & satisfying job than just pouring drain pipe or vinegar IMO. Also get your O2 sensors cleaned with carb cleaner or WD-40 along with CAT.

i am confused my self that how is it possible for it to get chocked so early but after doing some research i have found out that the 9th Gen Civic has this problem lots of Civic owners have faced the same issue.

It is fuel quality issue . And applicable to all cars as I have experienced it in GLI at 40k

My Corolla CATCON got choked because I was using fuel from ATTOCK, which has higher Lead content. Got it cleaned from silencer walla and problem was resolved. Now I dont go to ATTOCK, and didnt face this problem again.

Aoa .Just saw your post. I have recently bought a 2013 model civic. And I'm also feeling the same issues. I also saw vedios of catalytic converter cleanings by motor clean. I just wanted to know is motor clean is reliable enough to visit. Or do you have felt any issues after cleaning your catalytic from them like any check light .. waiting for your reply thanks..@salmansadiq86

well honestly i was satisfied with their service personally, but it depends on the condition of the cat converter of your car. But do give them a visit and if they satisfy your queries give it a try.
