Catalytic converter - Rebirth

Hello Pakwheelers,

just bought a 2013 hardtop Pros few days ago. went for tuning yesterday only to find out that the grills of catalytic converter has been removed by the previous owner. probably due to chocking.

need suggestion. replacement (so called kabli) is around 30k and the new part probably twice the amount.

is there any other solution repairing or anyting? . car avg is fine its just that the noise is pretty loud and bad

Get a new one. Kabli one simply means used and you wont know what fuel went through it so it wont last much.
In other regions, Catalytic converter has 70000kms warranty so if it gets choked or dysfunctions then it is replaced free of cost by company. Dont know what the rule is here in Pakistan.

If the converter's inner honeycomb mesh has been removed then its most likely that rest of the stuff inside the converter has been taken out also.

The sound of the exhaust is louder due to that as the empty converter shell is resonating. Either stick with this one or else if sound is an issue then you will need to replace it which depends upon how much you can afford.

Broken Catalytic Converters can't be repaired. Period.

If you are planning to drive the car atleast for 3 years then 100% go for brand new.
Kabli means used. It can result in less fuel mileage and it will definitely choke after about 10-20 thousand KMs.

Catalytic converter is not a serviceable part and you should install a new one. Dont go for repair or cleaning etc.

In normal circumstances, how much kms a cat con could survive specifically in Corolla ?

Depends on fuel quality but if thats accounted for a Cat can easily last upto 70-80000km. This is judged by the warranty which global car manufacturers give of cat.

Reborn's catalytic also fits in Rebirth. Rebirth Kabli/japense Catalytic costs 30-40k and new one from Honda costs 80-90k. While Reborn's Japanese catalytic costs you around 20k and works normally.

There is a special dholki which is installed in place of CATCON to reduce noise.

Kindly tell me if i remove catalytic-converter of rebirth than how much it effect fuel average, for example if my car give 10 kilometer per liter than without cat it give how much ?
