are u looking for a commercial unit or for home use cos it is too much for home use. for commercial units make sure you get it from a supplier that gives u a maintenance service as these things require proper care for proper performance.

i have received a quotation from allied engineering (authorized dealers of CAT in pakistan) a 250KVA CAT will cost Rs. 3.7M including every thing from purchase to commissioning.

are there any other vendors other than allied engineering for CAT ?

Allied Engineering are the authorised dealers for Caterpillar generators. I have a 200KVA Caterpillar generator in my hotel that is maintained by Allied Engineering. It has been working flawlessly for more than 10 years, not a single breakdown. 3.7 million seems like a pretty good price for a 250KVA CAT generator, i would've thought it would be much more.
