This thread sprinkled salt on my wounds...
We are simple people, for the most part. I live in a bustling city (Lahore) and my neighborhood is right beside a busy market. And on busy days; notably on Eid's Eve (Chand Ratt); people park their cars in our streets and just calmly went on a shopping spree spawning several hours with their brand new wives coated in heavy make-up so they can get another coat from an expensive, famous beauty saloon located in our market.
And no one in our neighbors (including me, sadly!) has the guts to tell them to park their cars in a parking plaza that's actually CLOSER to the market than our neighbor! But since the plaza charges a HEFTY and absolute RIDICULOUS parking fee of 10 Rupees / Hour (yup, whole 10 rupees thanks to corrupt Govt and inflation); they feel compelled to park their luxury cars, worth multiple million rupees, in our tight streets.
I once saw a BMW 5 Series and an Audi A5 parked in our streets! Doesn't matter if they get dented by a rickshaw driver or some half-crazy youth on a Honda 125 thinking he's Valentino Rossi because 10 Rupees is an excruciatingly high amount of fee just to park their eight million rupee BMW.
Like I said; we are simple people! Me and my neighbors don't try to confront them and tell them to leave our neighbor. Why ruin our and their perfectly fine day? All we do is try to be very careful while navigation through our neighbor on a weekend.
Look this way; we are saving people hundreds of rupees each day by enduring a bit of annoyance!
That's a WIN!
