ok going for origonal bearing is quite difficult job i think the inner bore size is 20 mm and outer bore is 77mm . you are absulity right abassi sab . i couldnt find standard bearing in this size . tomarrow i will call a kabari if he has complete crank if yes i will buy it from karachi i saw many types of bearing in market and will sure come back with success inshAllah but lets pray for peaceful muharram after that i will go for few unique bearings and will share with you guys

Nicely said!! In addition to the main bearing issue, I suspect that in the past the crank may have been disassembled to get to the big end bearings and reassembled carelessly causing the crank line to be no longer true.

Using the dial gauge seems to be an issue. Sometimes when the customer insists on a certain (proper) way to get the job done, the shop owner tells the customer to take his business elsewhere. Having said that, not taking proper measurements at multiple locations is like shooting in the dark :o. Tolerances are so tight that just a couple of thou out of true and we are looking at spun bearings and what not.

Those sort of machine shops are crooks - Its far better to take business elsewhere.

Going for a complete crank with bearings from scrap may be the only way to go. Hopefully you will be able to get the complete item. It will be the cheapest alternative.

yes abbasi sab mobile signals are down due to muharram tomorrow i will call scrap dealer if he has crank shaft with bearings. i may also search for dial guage this time from market my machinist is honest and nice guy he never reject my points he do listen to me and if the machinist was someone els i hope he may told me to leave i am looking whole day to spend in machinist shope .

Great news!! BTW this looks very different from the pictures I have seen of your crank assembly. Just one question, is there supposed to be a pin in the outer race to stop it from turning? If you need a hole for the pin, Outer race is very hard. I am not sure if a HSS bit will cut it. A diamond tip will definitely cut it.

yep the outer bearing has a locating hole where the dowel pin locks it in place, a true proper gaali/paseena wala job even with a diamond bit, its a very hard skin, slow rpm with appropriate cooling is required

Diamond tip drills should be available. I can't imagine that in Peshawar they don't have the need to machine extremely hard steel. By the way one more thing you need to consider that the outer race is pretty thin that will limit the depth of the hole. The hole will have to be very shallow.

Have a look at this youtube video. See the packet of drill bits he has in his hand. They are Diamond bits I am talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbJq2z2ya80

These drills are not to be confused with "masonry" drills we use to made holes in walls

Look at the star shaped sparks flying off the bearing race as it is being drilled. When I used to work in Karachi my machinist once told me that he could tell the hardness of the metals by the nature of sparks coming off the job as he cut it

I can look for the drills in Rawalpindi if you want.

thank you abbasi sab yes my son tried many time and i am always like :o. baki ap samjh gaye hongay. lets have little discussion about bearings . i bought the same size of bearing and when i wanted to drilled my machinist told me these bearings cant be drilled becouse thin surface so then i reduce the size and bushed them you can easily see the rough surface but work is under my satisfactory .

than i went to buff guy because my engine parts were dull and had black spots . i didnt wanted that much shine the engine but he done it so am thinking to paint few parts .
