CD 70 Smoke from Magnet Side Cover

I am facing the problem of smoke coming form magnet side cover after riding for 10-15 minutes. The model is 1989, I have recently upgraded it from point to cdi, new magnet coil was also installed. Kindly suggest what should I do

These old models got ventilations hole behind the cover.
Or look if any seal is leaking there.

Did you change the magnet cover to the later model one? The original cover has a cavity and drain hole for the breather right there.

Yes the mechanic installed the new modelmagnet cover

New magnet cover was installed, The engine doesn't overheat. Only smoke comes from the inside of magnet side cover

You will need to modify that cover to match the old one.

Look remove the cover and start the engine, you will feel air being pushed out of a small hole, thats the breather port, it opens up into a cavity in the original cover.

The new models didnt have that breather hole.

So now as you have modded your engine, you need to mod the cover to match the original one.

So should I buy a new cover instead of modifying the current one?
