Well I've already posted detailed reviews about this device on incpak.com and in this same very thread but just to add I'm still very satisfied with the device and plans to keep it for atleast six more months and yes I'm using it as my main phone
Os version : Though final LP is released but it's below average and next release with xui is expected in 1st week of december. So far stable os is official KK

Custom support: Yes lit of custom roms are available on bbs.infinixmobility (including cm 12.1) , few very stable , few buggy. So if you get bored with stock os you can change the flavour. All custom roms have bugs few have very less and almost negligible.

Battery : Depends upon Os. Stock KK is good enough with 4:30 plus sot. Custom roms vary . Cm 12 has monstrous battery backup on zero 2. Touches 5:30 and around 20 hrs standby.

Peroformance: I'll simply define in one line No Lag at all , doesn't matter what you're doing

Cam: Both cams are exceptionally good , front cam is ideal for selfie lovers.

Haha, the highest I have gotten is around 16h battery time with 4.5h SOT on 5.1.1. And about 11h with 5h SOT on 4.4.4. But are you on stock TouchWiz? Because that battery life is amazing if you are on stock with no kernel optimizations. What is the battery capacity?

And absolutely no offence taken. I like comparing stuff like this with others.

Correction: it was Galaxy J2, not Galaxy J1.

AMOLED displays have the advantage that they draw significantly less power on darker backgrounds (themes and wallpapers). So by utilising this, you can get additional battery timings (especially screen on times).

Not a fan of AMOLED displays because of finite life spawn, expensive replacement, unpredictable power consumption and overly exaggerated colors. But apparently, its the future...
More and more Samsung phones are now coming with Samsung's proprietary S-AMOLED, even ultra budget ones. Same can be said about Microsoft Lumias as its upcoming budget phone; Lumia 550 is rumoured to feature a 4.7" AMOLED. Heck, even Qmobile is now selling AMOLED Phones at dirt cheap rates! Look-up Noir S5...

BUT THERE'S A CATCH which no one seems to mention: AMOLED Displays actually draw MORE power than an IPS Panel while showing a bright colorful picture, and its consumes AWFUL LOT MORE power while showing PLAIN WHITE backgrounds! And we all are well aware that Android Lollipop onward versions are mostly white.
Hence, I believe that IPS trumps AMOLED in most aspects... There's a good reason behind why Apple is reluctant to feature an AMOLED Display in its Iphones...

Actually,

The original post also had a link of my J5 findings which included a long list of its drawbacks. So it was not meant to be bragging.

Nothing I say is meant to be 'bragging'. It is just to 'help' with the very limited knowledge I have about smartphones and its optimisations.

Bragging with a smartphone is just awful, as everyone has them these days, but mentioning that its better in battery timings than its competitors is actually for awareness, as its a public forum. But i specifically mentioned you which turned out to be awful [emoji4].

I do not like to talk about any of the flagships that i currently have or had unnecessarily. I always keep the discussion general about flagships, even if I have personally kept them.

I keep posting battery timings for public awareness, because i also posted some tips to improve screen on times (for AMOLED display only), so I keep them updated with results, because it may help some people who are not aware of it.

Infinix Hot 2 is android one device. But for official updates from Google you need to flash the original non tempered rom of Android Lollipop 5.1 available at infinixmobility.com. The site has flashing guide as well. It's easy 10 min jobs. I am using it. Though antutu score is just 20K but the performance is excellent. And my 2 days hard usage is giving me around 4 hours of screen on time(SOT). Expecting this much performance from this little battery is amazing. Plus you get unpartitioned 16gb internal memory which is in itself a blessing as most China phones the internal space is not more than 1.5Gb and you continuously face low space problems. It has no 4G which is a drawback but what you get is lagless experience of lollipop. I have installed more than 25 applications and it's still going very strong. Body is heavy and when holding in hand it feels solid like metallic structure.

Its all stock 5.1.1 and unrooted, having 2600 mah battery with 1.2 quad core Snapdragon 410 (highly power efficient entry level chip and processor, much less responsive than honor 4C processor).

I like to use dark backgrounds (themes and wallpapers), so it helps to save a lot of battery consumption on AMOLED displays, but Samsung takes the lead in battery timings overall in most latest phones, from budget to flagships.

I will root it someday and tweak it be more responsive and even more battery efficient. This is easily done by tweaking RAM management to such that there is less 'free RAM' and 'more cached RAM'. My this concept actually goes against people thinking but it actually works flawless (without hanging).

Honor 4C has more than sufficient and very good timings, even flagships have the same. Now your battery timings review can help people if Honor 4C is good for them or not.

I got my first Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy Y, as a gift when I was 15 and I swore never to buy a budget Samsung phone for myself (even though other options weren't available back then). TouchWiz was horrible on such a low end device. I ended up rooting it and got much better. Same story with the HTC Wildfire S. Was a bit better than the Y but was hugely improved on CM10. Sadly that got stolen, so then I got a Samsung Galaxy S which was bought new 2010 and barely used Worked great but again TouchWiz. Rooted it and tried all all types of ROMs but finally settled with CM7 which gave me 6hours of SOT once on a 1500mAh battery.

But now it looks like TouchWiz is getting better on budget phones as well so my mind may change about Samsung phones.

Looking forward to the Infinix Zero 2 after my uni mids. I love AMOLED displays, it was really amazing on the Galaxy S and I missed it when I moved to the 4C.

^ most people think Zero 2 2300mah battery is a deal breaker, but its actually great.

Even 4-5 hours SOT is too good for this much powerful phone.

Most phones, even the budget ones are not slow to begin with. You can use them for 100 days without any third party apps and they will not lag at all.
To avoid this slowing issues, you must know how to deal with third party spps that may slow your phone. Once you know it, its very easy to fix these issues on budget phones even without rooting or custom roms.
But after third party apps, those phone were exactly like that you mentioned, having more bloat and less processing power, but I actually loved them and I still do the most, because they taught me 'EVERYTHING' about troubleshooting and optimisations. Flagships taught me 'almost nothing' because they don't have those problems, which is one of the reasons I 'always' keep lower end devices as primary phone. I am no expert, just in a learning stage, trying to make things better.
Zero 2 and Honor 4C is the best 3G smartphone option in that range. Zero 2 has 3 GB RAM LTE model too, if that comes here and Infinix products durability remains good (not like Qmobile), then that will be a real flagship killer!.

Your are right, AMOLED displays are perfect for multimedia stuff and IPS are perfect for Internet browsing. Having same pixel density (PPI) of both AMOLED and IPS display, IPS sharpness/clarity is slightly more than AMOLED.
-IPS shows pure whites and cannot show pure blacks.
-AMOLED shows pure blacks and cannot show pure whites, as it has slight yellow tint (warm color temperature) on pure white backgrounds.

Did some search and a very old post of yours came. Excellent advice 10/10.

Whatever you said about 2 GB RAM now applies on budget phones too, as latest apps are very RAM hungry too and when the apps cannot get enough RAM to operate optimally, phone starts to lag and freeze.

So they should better invest in budget phones having atleast 1.5 GB RAM or preferably more, to get smooth & responsive results.

Infinix Big 6 leaked.
Looks like they have gone with a 5.5" screen. Doesn't look 5". At the back you clearly have the fingerprint scanner which is a nice addition and that it the best position to place it IMO, though this one looks like it is too much near the top. Also, the camera is probably a 16<mp camera according to the leaks. It isn't plastic from the looks of it, definitely metal. In short, this looks like a flagship phone by Infinix. Hopefully it won't carry the price tag of flagship phones though
