Investing in some good shock absorbing case will help a lot, as survival depends on how many times you drop it. G4 has very slightly curved screen (only noticeable when placed screen down on flat surface), so it helps to protect screen from breaking by not taking impact directly on screen center. Screen is most vulnerable to damage, other damage is rare.
Batteries are consumable items and have finite life (~250-500) charge cycles in ideal conditions, after that they get very weak. Non removable batteries last a little longer, but when they need replacement, almost half phone is opened. Phone opened = phone ruined. So removable batteries are better for long term.
Expandable storage is also very useful, especially for video recording, as these 4K UHD video recording takes a hell lot of space and you need an ultra fast 4K supported microsd card for it. It takes ~500mb just for one minute 4K UHD video. Lol.
