Brothers finally got my Note 5 64 GB.
Alhamdullilah it's an amazing phone.
Initially was confused between Note 5 and 6S Plus, but the latter was expensive plus I had a feeling I would get bored of the restricted iOS. Nonetheless both are amazing in their own rights.
First, the build quality of Note 5 is fantastic, the metal sides and front back glass makes the phone highly premium. The negative though are the finger prints that easily cover whole of the phone, I use the case so not much of an issue.
Second, the screen is at the top of the food chain. Nothing beats the Quad HD super amoled panel of Note 5. It's rich in colours, is bright and is crispy as hell.
Third, the camera is very good. It takes punchy sharp photos and plus the manual controls give awesome depth to the photos. The bad side though is that in low light camera tends to reduce noise a lot and so the pictures get a bit washed out.
Fourth, the UI or the touchwiz is highly improved. It's fast and doesn't make the phone pain in the *** to use. Previously samsung phones had terrible software specially S5 and even Note 4 was slow and clunky. The useless motion and gestures features are gone finally. The customization is also great from themes to font style. I really can't belive this is a Samsung device because it's blazing fast even when multiple apps are opened plus ram management is not that aggressive. The bad side though is that although the phone is really fast, it still lacks the smoothness of iOS or pure android, the phone stutters a bit in animations. I hope this gets improved in Marshmallow update.
Fifth, the s-pen is really useful. It's not a gimmick anymore. Furthermore, it feels like an actual pen from clicking mechanism to the writing. It is streamlined and has useful features like the screen off writing and multiple image screen shot.
Sixth, the battery, I was initially worried about this. But finally the phone doesn't disappoint. It has very good standby timings plus on daily usage I am getting 5 hours SOT with WiFi and LTE always on. And fast charging is cherry on top.
Lastly the phone looks boss in golden color. Note 5 indeed is the king of bigger phones. I just hope Samsung further improves the software experience and the phone gets updates fast. I hate waiting for Marshmallow now on flagship phone.
Overall rating 9/10
